The company laving been dormant so long bas now wakened up to the fact that this franchise would so soon become void, held a meeting last night in the courthouse which was well attended and quite enthusiastic. Judge W. N. Dusen-berr- y presided at this meeting. Articles of Incorporation were adopted, the salient points being as follows: Tbe corporation is to last fifty years. The capital stock is placed at $100,000, in shares of $100 each. The franchise extends over the principal streets of Provo, and it is proposed to make the mmediate construction from therall-wa- y depots to the asylum by a circuitous rout, thence west of Centre street to the shore of Utah Lake, requiring in all a length of six miles of track. This road is intended to be used for passenger traffic, for convaying supplies from tbe railway of the asylum, for use as a rock road from tbe quarries near the asylum, and also fsr distributing gravel over the streets from the beds at the base of the mountains east Gf town. The road will be standard gauge, thus anabling the hauling of railway cars over it to the asylum and other places. It is proposed to expend some thirty odd thousand dollars in this construction, for a road to be operated by animal power, then afterwards put in aa electric plant. Old Rio Grande Western railway rails will probably be used. Stock to the amount af about $80,000 bas been subscribed by citizens chiefly, and there is plenty of outside capital ready to go into the enterprise to make it a big success.
