Show 2— CEU— Friday Dec 2 1177 OPINION Courtesy at By A J Debbie Fivecoat Editor The alarm goes off suddenly without warning and wakes four sleepy dead-tire- d girls from a blissful slumber who set because the alarm for 6:00 am the only girt decides she's too tired and relaxed to pry herself out of bed to turn off the alarm which is disturbing her other three roommates After ten minutes but what seems to be eternity the girl stumbles out of bed and staggers to the fumbling and knocking over chairs and anything that gets in her way She then heads straight for the shower oh ye the shower to wash out all the “ickyness" and the troubles of the day that just begun Hark! What does she hear -- the pitter-patte- r of waterdrops on the shower curtain Somebody had very slyly sneaked out of bed and beat her to the shower! While a grouchy voice comes chanting from the other side of the room “I called for the shower next" The race is on! After the showers these four girls try to put on their makeup and curl their hair This is hard to do have you ever tried fitting four girl's faces in a small 18" X 12” mirror? By this time the girls start saying “nice" things to one another “Would get your fat nose out of the mirror so I can curl my hair!” and “I was here first and I can’t see with YOU in the way" This is typical for many of the girls who live in Aaron Jones Hall It may be exaggerated a bit but sharing a room with other girls and not having any space and privacy to yourself is hard on college students For instance if my roommate wants to go to bed early she can’t because I’m always up late studying if she wants to sleep in she can’t because I've got to get up early which means the lights go on also If I feel like being sloppy I can’t because my roommate is always neat There have been many times when the main arguement of the day was 'Who’s going to get in the shower first!' Maybe in the near future the crowded dorm situation will be resolved but what should the girls do until then? Should thev just bare with it or should active measures be taken to find housing elsewhere? Diversification is the name of CEU's new Continuing Education schedule Fill those long cold winter nights with some excitement! I'd like to clarify a few points for Ms Fivecoat First of all my story I am now in the CEU Concert Band and Choir which takes up the regular lunch hour I asked Dean Wright who is in charge of Food Service and told him my problem Within a few minutes he called over to the snack bar and arranged for me to eat there Monday Friday anytime during the day that would meet my schedule There are others who have come into the cafeteria and because of many different reasons couldn’t or wouldn’t eat Many times in these situations Dean Wright or someone of the Cafeteria staff would make them a sandwich or something else quick Many times now Airing the basketball season the practice will run past the regular dinner hour The cafeteria will hold all of their meals or make them up something else quick There are some others who even get passes for the Snack Bar in special situations These are the caring situations that I think CEU could use more of! Now about the looks or smell of the food Its true that there are some foods that some people don’t like but there is no way the cafeteria staff or anyone else for that matter can find something that everyone likes Your comment is a personal opinion and you being the “Editor" I would think you’d have some facts to back up this comment which was totally unjust and unfair There are some problems of course in the cafeteria like everywhere else I think an “editorial should give an opinion but should also have suggestion fra the solution of that problem We would just like to ask that you check out your facts before writing an editorial There are many things that we have left out because space doesn’t permit Anyone of these people who have signed and many others would be glad to discuss this situation with you Thanks for your time Students on the Meal Plan For those interested in this subject a copy of this letter 0 with all of the signatures may be found in Horan basic g industrial hydraulics mine hydraulics and equipment History of jazz guitar band yoga body conditioning classes self defense fencing sports officiating psychology Hussion advertising and media production narcotics radio and TV Workshop and practical and technical welding conclude next quarters continuing education StUuQntS Getting your money's worth "'col'lece afi cost $12 000 is it $16000 important to return on the know that your investment doesn’t skill worth cultivating students who want to attend The classes continue with mine mechanical maintenance western coal former diploma Getting your money's worth out of college after you leave is a scholarship is all "Wright" schedule end when you receive your collected in the drawing will be used in starting a CEU Food Service colleges and universities including CEU offer a full range of benefits to former students Many Educational op- - portunities include library privileges educational tours and courses from the Continuing Education Division Many of the colleges on campus also maintain their own mailing lists so they decorating Students enter college Since House Bill No 60 was recently passed by the The chance for continuing seventh annual student Art exibition will be held at Utah Legislature older alumni now have a unique statewide education The bill provides that citizens 62 and older may attend classes at CEU or any other college or university in the state of Utah with no tuition required or just minimal fees if there is room and if no credit is given Fall vhat? yean “A-12- Weber State College from January 9th through 27th 1978 January Display work from Young Univer sity College of Eastern Utah Dixie College Snow College Southern Utah Utah Utah State College University of State art exhibit University Utah Technical College Utah at Provo Technical College at Salt Lake City Westminister College and Weber State College will be presented The awards are 1st 2nd $100 Place-Brigha- Place-$7- 5 Class Period hall department competition between the sophomore and freshman class was unique in more ways than one First before you pass through another year of would the college how learn class sophomore to spell “sophomores!"
