As Herbert Spencer said: When a mans knowledge is not in order, the more of it he has the greater will be his confusion. The idea behind such patriotic organizations as The John Birch Society is not to get a lot of people together and try to change things. No, indeed. It is to get together a small number of dedicated patriots, intelligent, informed, and courageous, who recognize the importance of George Washingtons statement that truth will prevail if enough pains are taken to bring it to light. And their purpose is not to change things, but rather to recapture our Republic and keep the traitors from changing it more. For traitors have long since been placed in top positions at every level of government, the Mass Media, Entertainment, Education, Religion, Labor, Big Business", the Armed Forces, Government-oriente- d organizations, and so on. Lies and propaganda are shoved at us on every front. It is to Americans awaken to these dangers that patriots labor, with truth as their only weapon. Ferguson SINGLAUB FIRED FOR TELLING TRUTH By Captain Joe H. Ferguson CARTER REMOVES SINGLAUB FROM KOREAN POST i President Carters removal of Major General John Singlaub as U.S. Chief of Staff in Korea has ominous overtones. Carters action resulted from his anger at Singlaubs remark that Carters plan to withdraw troops from Korea would lead to war. The tragic part of the incident is that Singlaub was fired not for lying, but for With the communists insatiable telling the truth. appetite for territory, it is understandable that their plans include the taking over of South Korea. That was their plan as far back as 1950, and we have no indication that their plans have changed. There can be little doubt that the only reason that the communists do not occupy South Korea today is the presence of U.S. troops. Now, Carter wants to remove these troops. To anyone who has studied the pattern of communist agression it is evident that the withdrawal of U.S. troops at this time will be an open invitation to military attack by communist North Korea. And with North Koreas military strength being supported by Soviet Russia, there would be little doubt regarding the outcome of the conflict. DOES CARTER PLAN TO SACK KOREA? Carters actions indicate clearly that he plans to abandon South Korea to the communists. Furthermore, he does not plan to tolerate any loyal American military commander telling the American people the truth. Carters firing of Singlaub very closely parallels the firing by Truman of MacArthur in 1951. In both cases, the presidents were pursuing courses which were disastrous to our national security. And in both cases, the generals observed the potential disaster and were anxious to avoid it. Some claim that the controversy in these two cases centers on respect for the authority of the President. There is no argument that the Presidents authority must prevail. But also, the President has the responsibility of using his authority wisely. Trumans decision to fire war MacArthur and commit our fighting men to a no-win resulted the tragic and needless deaths of thousands of U.S. fighting men. Carters action will cause the sacrifice made by all Americans in Korea to have been made in in vain. The real crux of the matter is not that of authority. Si nglaub did not defy the Presidents authority; he did not refuse to follow orders. He merely issued a statement pursuant to his convictions based upon his experience in Korea. The fact that such a simple statement could cause the President to react in such anger and with such irrationality is really cause for serious concern. If Singlaub had acted contrary to the best interests of the nation, his removal would have been justified. But when his action was in the best interest of the nation, and the President removes him for such action, then the President is acting contrary to the best interest of the nation. That means, fellow Americans, that it is time for us to remove, for the sake of national security, President Carter from his position by the most expeditious legal means. A Policy of Surrender Continued from page 2 toll us that we no longer have the will or the desire to resist totalitarian aggression.
