Show 1 HNTAH BASIN STANDARD- - August 6. 2002- - Page IS 7th Annual Jarvie Family Festival is a reminder of years gone by Question: What do mountain men and angora rabbits have in common? Answer: The 7th Annual Jarvie Family Festival! The rabbits that lay placidly on the laps of their owners were part of the carding and spinningdemonstration, while two groups of mountain men provided visitors with a glimpse of the Old West. The mountain men were complete with an teepee, black powder rifles and Airs. The jangle ofharncBscsfromateam of horses providing wagon rides, the clank of horseshoes being thrown in competition, and the bull whips cracking with careflil technique, provided excitement and energy to the many activities. Everywhere around the Jarvie Ranch you could feel the atmosphere and hear the sounds of years gone by. Blue Country Bluegrass, Lyle Harlow, Saddle Sage Poetry Group and Sweet Adelines, entertained visitors with music and cowboy poetry at this years festival. This type of entertainment was popular to the old days of the Jarvie Ranch and ia popular to the present day visitor of the Jarvie Ranch. The 7th Annual Jarvie Family Festival was held on June 15 with over three hundred in attendance. With more exhibitors and entertainers than in the past six years, there was more variety for the attendees to experience. The exhibitors andentertainers came from a variety of locations in both Colorado andUtah. Many thanks to all of the contributors and volunteers who helped make this event nossible. 18-fo- ot GOOD DANCER-S- un Duncan performs during Ute Tribal entertainment, Thursday evening at the UBIC.
