This year's party was held December 22 at the elementary school for over 75 children. Plans for the party were carried out by Mel and Carol Dalton and Pat Gentry of Ioka, working with Mrs. Lela Baum. The children were given prizes, apples, doughnuts, candy and punch. Another thank you goes to the American Legion Auxiliary for the use of its Santa Claus suit, rent free, for any local group needing it during the holidays. Larry and Joyce Rhodes and children spent the holidays in Garland, with Larry's mother, Mrs. Marie Rhodes and other family members. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Turner spent a sunny Christmas in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., visiting Joyce and Bob Sagor and their family. Judy and Clyde Jackson and their two children, Bradley and Jennifer from Centerville, traveled with the Turners to Arizona. While there they were joined by David and Rita Turner from San Gabriel, Calif., with their daughter, Stephanie. The Turners were gone a week. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Peatross held New Year's dinner for Mr. and Mrs. Melvin White and their daughter Penny, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Labrum, Neola and Mr. and Mrs. Kent Peatross and their son. At the home of Orinda and Harold Gee New Year's dinner was shared with Ruby and Dave Thomas, Harvey and Venla Gee, Margaret and Shorty Leach, and Triss and Kay Coffin, Heber. J. C. Con" Wilkerson, 85, died January 4 in the Duchesne county hospital. Father of Dale Edward Workman and Carl Wilkerson of Duchesne, he is survived by a wife and three other children. Funeral services were held Monday noon at the Neola LDS ward chapel, with burial in the Neola cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Orven Moon spent the weekend in Provo with their daughter and son in law, Karen and Wade Peterson. Sunday the Moon's attended church where their new grandson, Bradley James was blessed. A family celebration was also held in honor of Mr. Moon's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Cowan spent the weekend visiting Roger's mother, Mrs. Sarah Casper. Mrs. Hildur Brooks is back in intensive care at Holy Cross hospital in Salt Lake. The Lyle Welsh's had their three col young people home for the lege-ag- e 7 holi- returned to their respective colleges: Nancy to Weber State College in Ogden; Mary to Utah Stale in Logan and Terry to SL John' University at Collegeville, Minn. Mrs. Veva Tollefson took Theron Wyasket to Vernal Monday to catch his flight back to North Carolina. Theron, who had been visiting the Tollefson's is enrolled in school at the United Tribes Employment Training Center in Bis-mar- k. Several other 1973 high school graduates returned to Duchesne for the holidays, Marlys Miller, whose parents live in Rangely, Cola, now was there for Christmas, returning to Duchesne where she and Linda Howell drove together to Provo, where both are attending Trade Tech. Jacque Dunbar, daughter of the Jack Dunbars, spent the holidays in Duchesne with her parents, returning Thursday with Paula Nelson of Roosevelt to Dixie College in St. George, where both girls are students. Duchesne dogs need licenses Duchesne city residents who own dogs must have the animals registered by Feb. 1 or face fines according to city officials. License fees are $5 for male, $15 for females and $5 for unsexed dogs. There is a late fee of Dogs captured by the city after the due day will be confined and the owner made to pay a fine, plus impoundment fees. Licenses may be obtained at the city offices between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily.
