Honey, wool, dairy products, poultry and alfalfa seed contribute enormous wealth to the city. Very little has been said of the future possibilities of extending our industrial enterprises. It can be safely said that the future holds no bounds over the development of the agricultural and mining sections mentioned herein. The surface of their possibilities has merely been scratched. Duchesne, u French explorer, also reported finding an Indian village in the same locality shortly after the advent of Father Esenin nte. About tSSO the U. K. Army established a toll bridge which accommodated freighters, hunters, etc., in the crossing of the Duchesne river at Myton. In 1910 the present steel bridge was constructed. A trading post at. the bridge had been operated for a number of years by Hayden Calvert. Mvton first a government towns! te. In 190.9 it came into as an unincorporated town and in 1912 it was incorporated with Hayden Calvert as mayor. Mvton is surrounded by a very fertile farming area. To the east is the Independence, Hartford and Woods precincts, comprising about 20,000 acres of land with a primary water right from the Duchesne river. To the south is the South Myton Bench, Pleasant valley, and Carey Act Land, containing about 100,000 acres, most of which Is or will soon be under cultivation. Water for the, same is secured from the plentiful supply of the Duchesne river. To the west is the prosperous stock raising and general farming section, as yet partly unde-- j vclopcd, knowm ns Antelope. The extensive and productive area of Arcadia lies north and w'est of Myton. It is this fertile area that is most vitally influ-- , cnced by the Moon Lake project.
