Show DUCHESNE UTAH UINTAH BASIN RECORD, FRIDAY, MAY 6th., 19S8 Duchesne School Board Refunds Unpaid Bonds MARKET REPORT Meekly Summary of the North Salt Lake Livestock markets for ut -- old-cro- vnbs brought $6.25. b'OTE: Carloads of shipped-i- n livestock n bought for reshipment on the Og-emark-"hs Lake and North Salt carry freight benefits in variable amounts, except when other- 'se stated. (Continued From Page One) this block of $42,000 and also a block of $9,000 of the old bonds held by the State Loan Commission. Effect Cash Saving Further negotiations resulted in a still better price on the old bonds, and they were finally turned over at a price of 97.5, with all delinquent interest waived. Total saving thus effected to the district amounted to $1,050 in principal and $4,025 in delinquent interest, or a total of $5,075. To this figure might be added interest on the delinquent interest which had to be paid in the case of the $9,000 held by the state, and which would bring the total well above the $6,000 saving mark. There, of course, was no saving on the bonds held by the state, since state officials are not allowed to make any discount on such bonds. Of the total issue there still remain 2 $1,000 bonds held by the University of Utah, which will be refunded at par for the new 3 per cent bonds without either loss or saving. 1TN. HO! I?v Douglas Lindsay Work on the Farnsworth canal was stopped Monday because f storm. About four inches of new snow fell in the vicinity of Lake. are several cases of There mumps and whooping cough in Mtn. Home, including Ralph Row-lewho is down with mumps. Reports from Moon Lake indicate that work is about finished and the contractor is moving his equipment out to Deer Creek. Several Mtn. Home people were in Duchesne and Roosevelt Monday. Dont neglect your dental work-Cal- l Dr. M. I. Sleeker, Duchesne y, ional saving of $1,198.75 wiU be realized annually, as long as the bonds are outstanding. The new bonds fall due serially, however, and will be retired annually in groups of from $2,000 to $5,000 during the next 15 years. This transaction puts the last of the old outstanding indebtedness on a basis which the board feels sure can be taken care of regularly as the bonds fail due. There is a small issue which was refunded several years ago, falling due during the next few years, but there is little difficulty anticipated by the board in meeting these as they fali due. The large issue Just refunded has been a source of worry to the board for the past several years. Its final settlement has taken a time good deal of the members and efforts to accomplish, but in its final settlement, the board feels that it has accomplished one of its finest pieces of work.
