Show INSTRUCTIONS TO REGISTERS. "Salt Lako City Is ono precinct for election purposes. Any elector registered regis-tered in ono district within tho precinct pre-cinct of Salt Lako City, who may move prior to tho day of election Into another election district within said precinct of city, may, at his own request, re-quest, have his name erased from tho official register of tho district wherein ho is registered, and obtain from tho registry agent of that district a transfer trans-fer cortlflcato which shall entitle him to registration in any election district within the precinct of Salt Lake City. "On or before Aug. 2, A. D. 190G, you must post in flvo (5) conspicuous . . places within your district not less Xmr than flvo (5) notices of registration, forms of which are provided. Each 1 of tho notices so posted must bo signed by you in tho blanks intended therefor. J "Not later than Wednesday, Oct. 31, you must post notices in at least flvo (5) conspicuous places within your district, stating tho date and placo of election, and tho hours which polls will bo open. You will bo pro vided with forms of such notices by this ofllco. "Monday, Aug. 13, Tuesday, Aug. 21, Saturday, Aug. 25, Tuesday, Oct. 0, Wednesday, Oct. 10, and Tuesday, I Oct. 1C, 190G, between tho hours of 8 J- " o'clock a. m. and 9 o'clock p. m., you will receive and register, at your offlce, which must bo within your district, dis-trict, tho names of all persons legally qualified and entitled to vote at tho said general election. "Immediately after Tuesday, Oct. 1C, A. D. 190G, and within threo (3) days you must proparo and post a !i full, complete and truo list of all tho names on your official registers for your district, alphabetically arranged, according to surnames, with placo of residence. Verify tho samo by your oath upon the back of tho register and post tho samo in somo public placo within your district, leaving It there until tho close of registration on Tuesday, Tues-day, tho 30th of October, A. "After tho closo of registration you must with all reasonable dispatch prepare and cause to bo made a com-pleto com-pleto and correct list of all tho names on your official register, alphabetically, alphabetical-ly, commencing with tho si u.tmo ot each elector, giving tho rtldcuco ot each, and certify to the sumo and post tho samo in a conspicuous placo within with-in two hundred (200) feet of tho polling poll-ing placo In your district. This list must bo posted within three (3) days after tho closo of registration, and remain posted until polls aro closed on election day. "Upon this posted list you mu3t give notice that you will receive objections to tho right to voto of any persons so registered, between tho hours of (i o'clock p. m. and 9 o'clock p. m. on Saturday, tho 3rd day of November, A. D. 190G, such objection must be mado only by a qualified elector in writing, duly verified, setting forth ground ot objection. Said notices must also request persons whoso names may bo erroneously entered in said lists to apply to the proper registry agent at tho time abovo designated, and have such errors corrected. You will be provided with a form of such notice. "Not later than Saturday, Nov. 3, you must post in somo conspicuous placo or places, within your district, a printed list, which will bo furnished you by tho county cleric, containing tho name and party of each candidate nominated to bo voted for at said election, ono or moro of which must bo posted at tho polling places ot your district." |
