Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown Tremonton, Utah Thursday, August 19, 1965 Birthday Club Honors Husbands by Myrle Udy The Jr. Birthday Club ladies honored their husbands at an outdoor party held on the town play grounds Saturday night. A good crowd attended and guests who helped with the fun day rodeo were in attendance. Monday night Gordon Crow-the- r and four children stayed with the Ed Udys. Gordon and the two boys left for Washington Tuesday morning and the two girls stayed with their grandmother for a week while their mother is in Salt Lake City with her mother who is ill. Udy Madge Wednesday ac- companied by Mina Ward went to Salt Lake City. Mrs. Udy visited with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Cothren and Mrs. Ward visited with her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Smith Ward. Mrs. Udy brought her four grandchildren home with her for several days while their parents are on vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Voss Ward , Og-de- n pects Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Welling and family of Evanston accompanied by Darlene Rex of Randolph spent Tuesday night with their parents, the Karl They were all on their for a way to Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Welling and family came from Evanston, Wyo., and spent the day. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sims of Ogden spent Sunday visiting with Mrs. Sims parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Davis. Randall and Laurel Ann Sims, who had been spending a week with their grandparents, accompanied their parents home. Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Davis visited with Mrs. Davis's mother, Mrs. Rachel Williams in Ogden. Jeffrey Brown of Bountiful is spending a couple of weeks with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown. Sunday guests at the Brown home were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Fullmer of Logan. Summer Party Held The U. & I. Annual Summer party was held at Logan Canyon Saturday and Sunday. Over 260 enjoyed a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings on Saturday evening. Hospital in for several days. Local Twirlers Taking advantage of a week of baton instruction at "Holiday for Twirlers" at Sun Valley, the above named girls from Box Elder County were sucwhich cessful in the contest closed the week's schooling. Beverly Laws placed third in solo routine for girls 14 and over; Janie Buchanan placed second in solo routine for girls 13 and under; Nancy Barnard in strut for received second girls 14 and over; and Sally Jo Getz won fourth place for girls 13 and under in strut. The girls are all students of Joanne Schlueter's School of Baton. Sally Jo and Beverly are majorettes for Bear River High school band and Nancy is a majorette for Box Elder High school band. They visited with Mrs. Ethel Smylie and family at San Diego, with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Graham and family at Tucson, Ariz., and spent, sometime in Las Vegas. Among those who attended the wedding reception for Mr. and Mrs. David Shaw at the Clarkston Recreation Hall Friday were Mr. and Mrs. W. Lee Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Ver Shauna Jerrott, Joy Nelson and Kathy Hess. Games were played followed by refreshments. The refreshments were served in courses each course representing a different country. Mr. and Mrs. Max Archibald of Sunset spent Saturday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Hodge and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jensen. Barbara, Carol and Jay Archibald, who had been enjoying a vacation with their grandparents returned to their home at Sunset. Visiting with. Mr. and Mrs. George Kirby Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. John McDermott and daughter, Dixie Ann of Ogden. Mrs. McDermott will be remembered as the former Ray-d- a Kirby. Friends will be interested to know that Rayda has been working as a supervisor at St. Benedicts Hospital in Ogden but has now accepted a teaching position at Weber College. Overnight guests at the home of Mrs. Oneta Shurtz were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde King of Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. King is Mrs. Shurtz's brother. a "ham and eggs" .breakfast to approximately 150.
