Show Thursday. Dcnbr THE LEADER. 3. 1953 DEWEYVILLE by Grace Warnke LARGE CROWD ENJOYS GRADE SCHOOL OPERETTAS The School Operettas were presented before a large crowd Monday night at the Ward H411. The lower grade pupils presented "The Merry Old Soul",-anthe upper grade pupils had "Howdy, Cowboy". Several of the roles had to be substituted at the last minute because of an epidemic of chicken pox, but the young people did remarkably well and the evening was very worth while. The school teachers. Jay Stokes, Joyce Hall and Virginia Black-haare to be commended for a fine job as directors. Mrs. Lettie Snow and Mrs. Ruth m FRIDAY and SATURDAY DECEMBER 4 and 5 Litchford were in charge of the music and certainly were devoted to their duties. The school appreciated this and presented these two ladies with a lovely gift. The young people of the ward enjoyed a fireside held at the Relief Society room Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Woodward of Tremonton presented the program which dealt with the life and works of Martin Luther. The Relief Society members are busy preparing an evenings entertainment for Thursday, December 10 A bazaar will be held, food will be served and a program is also scheduled. Come early and stay late for this event. The program starts at 7:30. Thanksgiving day guests of Mr- and Mrs. R. W. Warnke were Mrs. M. E. Hall and son Stan of Clearfield. Mrs. Bobby Leon of Detroit, Michigan, and Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Talbot of - Ogden. Michael Burbank of Brigham City spent a few days during the week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Burbank. Mr- and Mrs. Bert Dewey of Ogden and Horace Dewey of Inglewood, California were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Snow. RETURNS TO BASE Mr. and Mrs. Vern Brough received word from their son, Airman Darrell Brough, that he had returned safely to his base at Camp Edwards, Mass., after - and Mrs. Jay Norr and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Norr entertained members of their family at dinner Thursday. Emma Jean Barrus and Porter Ray Heusser provided selections at the Garland First Ward M.I.A. Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Rupert Black-hahad as holiday dinner guests, Mr and Mrs. Dean Cap. m ener and daughter, Pamela of Garland and Mrs. Kenneth' Hunsaker, recently of Hono lulu, Hawaii. Mr. and Mrs. Alva Rhodes of Carey. Idaho were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Marble. The group enjoyed a family dinner on Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Billy Potter at East Garland.
