Show Universal ricrcf liming Corp. 277 6th Ave. P.T.A. Holds Regional Conference SERVING VALLEY RIVER BEAR THE Number 52 Tremonton, Utah, Thursday, September 24. 1953 VOL. 30 Services Held Tuesday For Prominent Businessman Four Stake Meet Called To Discuss Cubbing Program At the request of the Gen- - eral Primary Presidency of the SPECIAL EVENINGS L. D. S. Church, a meeting of those directly connected with PLANNED FOR JR. MEN the operation of the Cubbing AND JR. GLEANERS program, will be held Wednesday, September 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tremonton First East chapel. J. Oleen Palmer, vice president of the Lake Bonneville Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, and a councilor in the South Box Elder stake presidency will conduct the meeting. Recently, representatives of the local Scout Council of Utah, and Southwestern Wyoming, Southwestern Idaho areas, were the guests of the General Board of the Primary Association, La in Vern Parmley, president, Salt Lake City, to discuss with them the 11 year old Guide Scouth Program recently inaugurated as a part of the Primary program in the L.D.S. Church. It seemed that there was both much misunderstanding, dn the Primary field and in the Y.M.M.I.A. Scouting field, relative to the program, and since local Councils, in some respects, operate under varying policies and proceduces, it was felt that all those concerned with the two phases of the program should be brought together, where the program policies and procedures could be presented and discussed, so as to eliminate all misunderstandings and to clarify policies and procedures. Mrs. Parmley requested that local Councils concerned take the initiative in calling meetings on a Stake, or combination of Stakes, basis, to accomplish this objective. The following are requested to be in attendance: Stake presidents and or counselors. High Councilmen for both Primary and Y.M.M.I.A. Stake and Ward Y.M.M.I.A. Superintendencies. Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters, with Troop Cmv, TnittnAmrm where DOSSlble. and, members of Bishoprics assigned to the Primary and the Y.M.M.j Florence Pinnock of the Gen. eral Board of Y.W.M.I.A. will address the Junior Gleaner girls and their mothers of South Bear River Stake at a special meeting next Tuesday evening. She will discuss the theme '"Strength Through Clean Living". All girls of this age are urged to bring their mothers to the Tremonton Second Ward chapel at 8 o'clock to hear the speaker. The Junior M Men and their fathers of the stake will hear President Cl.fton Kerr talk on the same theme at the Tremon ton First Ward chapel at 8 p.m. The Relief Society rooms of both chapels will be the meet- - ' j brother Edward of Salt Lake City plan to leave Salt Lake City for by plane next Thursday England, where they will visit their 82 year old mother, Mrs. Hannah Maria Hayes at Wigan.
