AF Placement Washington (AFPS)- - Studies of Army and Air Force personnel statistics reveal that an Army man returning from overseas has a better chance of getting assigned to a base of his choice than his Air Force counterpart. Officials conducting the studies said that precise comparisons are impossible since statistics kept by the two services vary. They noted however, that assignment policies are similar for both. The needs of both services were listed as the final determining factor for the stateside assignment of overseas returnees. Navy figures were not included in the study because of a wide difference' in the Navy assignment policies.
