Show West Sludcnls Learn About Democracy First Hand Students of the West ElemenSchool are learning first hand how democracy and good citizenship work. tary Each Friday, a group of youngsters, one selected from each class at the school, sit in student the council meeting and discuss problems that may confront them. Their goal is to improve citizenship. The current project is the selecting each week of a student who has displayed outstanding citizenship. Although they have a teacher advisor, the students conduct the meeting entirely on their own and according to Principal Thomas Irvine, many adult groups could learn much from this little group who carry out the meeting in an orderly and businesslike manner, the under of chairmanship Stephen Hamilton.
