The film stars Ryan Reynolds (The Proposal) as one of the 3,457 chosen galaxy protectors known as Green Lanterns. The movie : has a premise of "will" vs. "fear" that's interesting to see explored. There are also a lot of dazzling special effects and the performances are all pretty much as lukewarm as you'd expect. ex-pect. But, the thing I had a problem prob-lem with was how ambiguous each Green Lantern's superpower super-power was; it was defined so simply but then shaped into infinite infi-nite possibilities each time danger dan-ger arose. It was a bit much to wrap your mind around. Also, it's hard to root for a superhero when there are already 3,457 of them and the newest man to join the group turns out to be better than the other 3,456 even though they've been doing the job for centuries. Yet, in spite of its flaws, the movie does not fail to entertain en-tertain as it takes you through eye-popping explorations and |
