For a short while, the two schools traded leads. Hillcrest stayed with Pleasant Grove as Huskies Danielle DeClou, Valerie Middleton and Laura Child held their own at the net against Dahl, Biggs and Daniel. After the Huskies had moved within 8-6, a Hillcrest service error tripped them up. Hits from Daniel, Biggs and Dahl permitted the Vikings to pull away. Taking a 7-0 lead in the third game, the Vikings kept the Huskies from putting together an effective offensive. Hillcrest hurt itself through frequently making bad hits. Late in Game 3, Dahl's impress serving clutched the game for the Vikings as Fotu delivered some crippling blows to the Huskies. Pleasant Grove will be spending this weekend at the state tournament, hosted by UVU. by Dean Von Memmott The Pleasant Grove Vikings ended their Region Four volleyball campaign Oct. 28 by winning a three-game match at home against the Hillcrest Huskies. Pleasant Grove made short work of Hillcrest by scores of 25-10, 25-13, 25-10. Viking Coach Jamie Schapper said, "Tonight I gave all of my seniors a chance to start, because it was going to be their last home game. They paid their dues for these past four years, and they showed why they had earned the privilege to play tonight." Kim Dahl, Le'o Fotu, Audrey Biggs, and Annie Jenkinson showed no mercy to the Hillcrest front line, especially during the first game. It unfolded with Biggs' slugging sending the Vikings rowing out to an 11-2 lead. Pleasant Grove got a serving performance from McKell Staheli and Dahl. Their combined serving of aces kept the Huskies from staging any kind of comeback in the opening game.
