Show FORMER RESIDENT DIES Funeral services were held in Roosevelt, Utah on Friday for former Moab resident Randall Ray Cooper, 25, who died Sept. 28. He was born Sept. 6, 1950 at Olton, Texas to E. J. and Hazel Shull Cooper. He was married to Connie Woehr-mann Woehr-mann and they were later divorced. He was an oilfield worker and an Army veteran, having served in Viet Nam. Survivors include sons, Jason Ja-son Clay and Brandon Wayne, of Kanab, mother and stepfather, step-father, Mr. and Mrs.- Jack Birchell, Roosevelt, brother, Ronald Clay, with the Army in West germany and a sister, Mrs. Danny (Dianne) Manning of Roosevelt. Burial was in Roosevelt City Cemetery. after reaching the San Juan seven yard line. The Broncos then put their touchdown on the boards with a long pass play from Francis Jones to Phil Bayles. The play covered 68 yards and left Moab with a 14-6 lead at the half. That was the San Juan final threat. The Broncos inherited some of Moab's penalty troubles in the opening minutes of the second half and surrendered the ball on their own 30 yard line. Noyes picked up two nice gains before Bohn rolled in from the three yard line for a 20-6 lead. It took Moab only 2 plays the next time they got the ball. Noyes exploded for 55 yards and his first score to make the score 26-6 and decide the game. San Juan did manage to reach llie Moab 25 just before the final quarter started, but the Moab defense became increasingly aggressive causing caus-ing a fumble. Moab wasted liltle time capitalizing on the error. Noyes exploded again, this time for 60 yards and 6 points and the Devils were home free. Coach Glen Richeson, chalking chalk-ing up his sixth straight win of the year, had his reserves in early and the subs gave up a 2 point safety for the final score. |
