Show ..V f Emanuel Thompson Services held Monday for Emanuel Thompsor Emanuel Thompson, a resident of Moab, Utah for 27 years, passed away at the Pioneer Hospital in Meeker, Colo, on September Sep-tember 22, 1978 at 2:30 p.m. of a lingering illness. He was born April 6, 1901 to Alexander Joel and Jane Steele Mahnken Thompson at Carbondale, Colo, and ws the youngest of 4 children. All of his sisters preceeded him in death. They were Lottie Mobley, Yolanda Flogus & Effie Ogden. He was married to Leona Fletcher on January 2, 1925, at Meeker, Colo, in the Davet House, and he is survived by four daughters: Muriel Devereaux of Meeker, Lois Weis of Chino., Calif., Pauline Lathrom & Phyllis Phillips, both of Moab, Utah, 25 grand children and 11 great-grand great-grand children. There were 2 sons and another daughter born to this union who preceeded him in death at an early age. They were Melba Esther, Vernon Willard and Larry Anschel Thompson. He later married Elsie M. Brumback on Nov. 25, 1948. There are 6 stepchildren step-children surviving; they are: Fred Brumback of Rangely, Colo. , Don Brumback and Hazel Wil-ber Wil-ber of Meeker, Colo., Ethel Miller of Elk Grove, Calif, and Lois Wallis of 1 Morro Bay, Calif, and Kathy Dillsaver of Vernal, Utah. He lived in the Meeker and White River area for 20 years and lived 1 year in Rifle, Colo. He moved to Moab where he resided for 27 years, from 1951 to the present. He worked as a mechanic at Joy Moto and for Dave Cochran in Meeker, and for the Moab Garage Co. and N.S. Christensen in Moab, as well as being a rancher on White River. He was employed by Midland Telephone which later merged with Continental Telephone until his retirement re-tirement in 1970. He was an avid gardener garden-er and did much experimenting experi-menting with diverse kinds of grapes until his illness prevented it in December of 1977. He has been a member of Toastmasters International Inter-national for several years. Graveside services were held at Highland Ceme-tary Ceme-tary im Meeker on Monday, Mon-day, September, 25, 1978 at 2 p.m. Pallbearers were 6 of his grandsons. |
