Show I Death Takes Dale Dale Martin a resident resident resident resi resi- dent of at Moab and Castle Valley since 1890 passed away Wednesday Wednesday Wednesday Wednes Wednes- day morning at his home following following following fol fol- fol- fol lowing an illness of almost three years at the age of 73 Mr was born bom in New London Iowa on April 13 1885 He came come to Utah at the age of five first living in Castle Valley In 1916 he came to the town of Moab and from 1914 to 1916 operated one of the first motor stage lines Unes in this area in partnership partnership part part- with Dennis Ater After After Af Af- ter selling his interest in the I stage line to the Moab l Garage j I company he farmed until just a afew afew a afew few years before his death He HeI first purchased the John Tan- Tan gren ranch and for 15 years owned owned owned own own- ed the old John Brown ranch now known as the place lie He married Ruth Cartwright of Delta Colorado in 1920 lt lie Ite served a 2 year 2 year term as Grand county commissioner and andas as a young man was a member I of the Woodmen of the World I Surviving are his widow of Moab two sons Burke Kearns Utah and Lloyd Par Par- Sun Valley California and six grandchildren Funeral services are tentatively tentative ly set for Saturday Burial will willbe willbe be In the Moab City cemetery under the direction of Turner Funeral Home |
