Show BOY SCOOT WON 61 mass lass ble meeting eting to be held mon day night to further interests of scout movement in moab giving the boy scout movement in moab a decided impetus Is i the purpose of a mass meeting of all boy boys between 12 and 21 years of aye age called to be held in the high school auditorium on monday evening november 12 at 7 30 parents of those eligible for membership in the boy scouts are also invited to attend this meeting in fact everybody interested in boy scout work will be welcomed at the meeting monday evening it is expected to organize a local council which will ill have charge of the community boy scout movement in moab thi this council will consist of from six to eight men who will be cho chosen to be members membern of the council and a it scout executive and some three stout scout masters A number of moab men who are re interested in the buy boy scout movement and favor the community plan of boy scout organization in which every boy between the ages of 12 and 21 years will be asked to join have been working out a plan to perfect an organization which may deal direct with the scout headquarters in new york and which will provide for the time ilme of a scout executive for two or three days jaya each week among those who have been interested in the plan are W D hammond W R mcconkie mcconkle R J fletcher H S rutledge C A robertson L L taylor R W chippie whipple at a meeting held satur day eberil i vaas as decided to call the mass meeting for boys for next monday evening and it Is probable that at this meeting the members of the local council to serve until the subsequent election of members will be chosen the plan faired by those who have been working out the matter contemplates the establishment of a permanent boy scout camp outside of moab and arrangements for a boy scout executive it is probable that I 1 C whipple who has had several years experience in boy scout work in st louis and hi in Calif california ortila will be chosen as the scout executive assurances have hive been given by L T quigley deputy supervisor of the la sal national forest that timber and a site for a boy scout camp near the fish pond can be obtained from the forest service without cost it is estimated by those interested in the movement that the local council of the boy scouts can be financed from a contribution of 60 cents per month from moab families and it Is pointed out that the benefits of boy scout work will be much more than this small expenditure to the community |
