Show Chaplain's Corner "Faith To Li ve By" by Chaplain (LTC) Glenn D. Lauby Much of the joy of harvest ii lost to the modem generation, with its fancy and its processed foods. However, some of us can still remember the days when the potatoes and pumpkins were gathered into the cellar, the com was in the crib, and there was a feeling of thankfulness for the good harvest. WHILE TIME and new methods bring their changes into our world of harvesting the food for this great nation of ours, still the harvest season reveals a number of things that never change. From pumpkin seeds we still get pumpkins; if com is to be harvested in October, then seed com must be planted in May or June. And so it goes throughout the long list of foods that line our shelves and supply our tables. Between the time of planting and harvesting are months of toil and cultivation. This task of not always pleasant, but it is necessary for a good harvest. THERE IS for each of us a more important harvest time ahead than this annual harvest with which we are familiar. . In this coming harvest, we need to keep the rules of Harvest in mind also. "For whatsoever a man.soweth, that shall he also reap." This is a simple law of the spirit with no exceptions. To sow well, to cultivate faithfully, is to ensure a good harvest. deep-freeze- Dugway Proving Ground, Friday, Nov. 4, 1966 Miss Tippets To Be Wed rs m 5 & 0 ar model airCarl G.
