Each night from 3:15 until 4:15 the girls practiced cheers and the techniques involved in cheerleading. At the end of the workshop cheerleading screening was held. It took place in the High School Gym on April 2. The judges were coach Raben, Mrs. Craig, Mr. Harding, Debbie Vogel, Marsha Brooks, and LaWana Gerrard. On April 8, the final tryouts , were held. There were eight girls trying out for Varsity. They tried out in groups of three. Each group did a required cheer and then a cheer that they made up. The girls chosen as varsity cheerleaders are: Linda Vance, Debi Paul, Carol Ritchie, and Kristy Cooper.
