Dayton, academic vice president, said. Summer classwork Friday. quartera will end Aug. 11, Students will have two holidays, including July 3 and 4 for Independence Day, and July 24, a Monday, for Pioneer Day. Autumn quarter classwork will begin Sept 27, a Wednesday, after registration on the two preceding days. Freshman orientation and registration are scheduled for Sept. 21 and 22. Autumn quarter classwork will end Dec. 8, followed by three days of examinations mi Dec. 11, 12 and 13. The Christmas holiday will extend from Dec. 14 through Jan. Many awards were given, and next cheerleaders and On jears Sandsations were A-- s. At the first of the year the school had a Intramural Track Meet. The winners of the track meet were announced. To make this announcement was Coach an- nounced. 1 Prident!-- She then Body r toKeith turned the 6 time-ove- Crocket and Cindi Meyers who announced Boy and Girl of the month. Sonya Kastler was named Girl of the Month for March and also received a certificate from the Elks Club, qualifying her to win a $25 bank account. Boy of the Month" is Troy Green. The time was then turned over to Paul Nakayu to announct the High Honor Roll. There was a total of 67 students who made it. Those who made it had to have a grade point average of 3 8 or above. Next Mr. Brady announced the Economics Fair winners. They were Kyle Nagel, Anne Rowley, Shaun Reed, Jenefer Rowley, Fran Morris, Tony Lee, Robert Harris, Wilferd Bitsille, Erenestine Clvde, Rhondi Miller, and Barbara Tsocie. For the Math Fair, the winners were Bart Hadley, Lisa Weinstock, Judy Johnson, Kirk Housley, Cheryl Crittendon, Annette Hawarth, Kip Hayes, Mike Ewin, Kyle Nagel, Laura Sill, Anne Rowley and Gary Taylor. Trotta, 1768 N. 2900 W., was Clinton, recently promoted to Army specialist four while serving as an ambulance driver with the 197th Infantry Brigate at F. Benning, Ga. He entered the Army m March 21975. The specialist attended State College, Troy Columbus, Ga. - winners in the spelling contest include (I. to r.) Craig Tew and Paul Nakayu, third place, Tana Rodgers, second place, and Holly Neymeyer, first place. NINTH GRADE and Wall Street in Ogden with pink, blue and yellow as the colors of the decorations for this special occasion. The music will be Times and provided by Seasons, and the cost is $4 per couple. Flowers will be in order and refreshments of cake, mints and slush will be served. The highlight of the evening will be the crowning of the new Prom King and Queen at 9:45 p.m. by the 25th Royalty, Sume. The next announcement was what everybody had been waiting for all day. Outward Bound school looks for volunteers When was the last took part in a good, second-han- d time you down-to-eart- h Not adventure? through the pages of a book or on a screen, but in person? If its been awhile, and if the idea of a challenging experience sounds exciting, Northwest Outward Bound School may be what you are looking for this summer. Northwest Outward Bound non-profa School, educational organization, originally offered courses for young men only, but today there are courses for men and women from 18Mi on up. This summer, sixteen mountain courses are being offered in the backcountry of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. it In groups of 10, each guided by two instructors, students backpack through the wilderness. Along the way, they acquire skills in camping, woodseraft, first-aimap and compass, rock climbing, rappelling, glacier work, glissading, peak climbing. Through these activities, you come to know well your companions as well as yourself. Regular courses are open to anyone in good health. Tuition is $625. Scholarship aid, based on financial need, is available. Tuition Includes rental of all equipment, except personal clothing, and food and instruction. All campus offices will be closed for nine holidays during the school year. These include : July 3 and 4, Independence Day, Nov. 23 and 24. A district spelling bee will be held again this year in the Weber School District. The renewed tradition of holding a spelling bee which began two years ago in the Weber District has since spread to other parts of the state of Utah. The spelling bee, which is a direct outgrowth of the Weber School District Foundation, resulted from a contribution by an anonymous donor who desired that the spelling bee carry the names of two Weber District teachers Mercy Leddingham and Helen Perry. School spell-off- s for this are currently being held with cone finals scheduled for the week of March 13. Next year there will be 20 girls in the group instead of the usual 16, the reason being that the Sandsations and the stage band will be some for combining programs and they will need much more volume for these performances.
