Seventeen boys and girls were present Mr. and Mrs. Otto Bisel were very happy when their daughter, Mrs. Ralph Barker and her three children of San Francisco, visited at their home a week ago for a week. Then her husband joined her and they left for a vacation in the east having the children visiting their grandparents here. Mr. and Mrs. Barker are returning this week for a few more days of visit ing befoe they return to California. The Bisels enjoyed having the Barkers at their home. Ronald Kendell left Jan. 26 for a six month hitch in the Army. He reported to Fort Ord, Calif. Joyce and Theron Wilde are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Royden Poll until the 19th of Feb. when Theron has to report to the Army. Joyce is going to stay with her folks. Elwyn nad Gene Hunt have just returned from an extended vacation to sunnier climates. They visited Genes mother in Mesa, Ariz., then went on to Los Angeles and on up the coast to Ventura. A Riverdale Stake temple excursion is scheduled for next Monday, Feb. 10. The last excursion on Jan. 23 there were 20 in attendance from the Riverdale Ward alone. A big effort is being made to further increase the number. Mrs. Jack Bingham is in the Dee Hospital with a broken hip. She will be remembered as the former Marian Donovan who attended the Riverdale School during her early schooling years. Reserve the night of Feb. 28 for the Family Movie Night to be held in the Riverdale School under the sponsorship of the PTA. Lee and Doris Parkinson and Mrs. Sal Craner made a trip to Los Angeles to purchase stock for s Gift Shop. The Parkinson's returned home on Jan. 24 but Mrs. Craner stayed until Jan. 30. The neighborhood excitement over the disappearance" of "skippy Fuller Monday night came to a happy conclusion with his unconcerned return home shortly before 8 p.m. After school he went for a walk with the permission of his mother, Sal-Lee- Mrs. Sterling (Margaret) Fuller. When he did not return in his usual good time his parents become concerned. About dark Blanche Gibby called them to say that he had been playing with her son Bryce and had refused an offer of a ride home saying he would walk. Their sense of relief turned into alarm again when he still did not put in an appearance. Besides a number of neighbors, Jake Kapp and other members of the Jeep Patrol were called into search the marshy areas in the field between the Gibby and Fuller homes. Mrs. Gibby spotted him a little before 8 p.m. near the Wayne Garfield home. Instead of cutting through the field he had gone down the highway. Kid Lane looked too dark to him o he had gone all the way down past the Child Garage and on up 4400 So. toward home. He gladly accepted the ride the block distance on home after his long jaunt.
