NEW HIGH POINT IN MEMBERSHIP Continued membership campaigning of the Price post of the American Legion has resulted in bringing its total up to one hundred and thirty-fiv- e to date, passing the mark of any previous year in the organizations history and placing it within comparatively short striking distance of the convention-tim- e goal. More than twenty new members have joined the post during the past ten days, the one hundred and thirty-thre- e mark being attained at the regular meeting of the group last Thursday evening. Steady increase of the posts membership is considered an excellent sign of preparation for the state convention of Legionnaires to be held here next August. Work of improving the veterans hall is going forward steadily, too, the building having been given a complete exterior covering of paint recently. Interior painting was completed some time ago. Plans call for planting of a new lawn on the veterans home property which will materially add to its appearance. . Great interest in the organization is being shown by its members, attendance at meetings of late having shown a marked increase. 16 Fr. Albin Gnidovec, of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church at Rock Springs, Wyoming, will arrive in Price the latter part of next week to mission for conduct a five-da- y -speaking persons of Carbon county. A special opening mass is to be held on Sunday, May 16, at 11:00 a. m. in the Price Notre Dame de Lourdes church. The remainder of the program is being planned and will be published in this paper next week. This is the first attempt to hold such a mission here, and Father Gnidovec is the first Austrian priest to visit this county. All his lectures will be preached in Slavic in order that the Austrians may fully understand and benefit from the course. Some lectures may also be heard at evening services in Spring Glen.
