He lives in Coalville Utah where he is currently attending North Summit High School where he averages a 3.4 GPA. Marvin is tfte Sterling Scholar for Trade in Technical. His teachers thought that he should try and do it. With this type of encouragement Marvin was up to the challenge and actually got it. Marvin is FFA Vice President and has served on the Oirin Hatch Youth Council. He was recently crowned Sweetheart King for the FFA Sweetheart week. Future plans include going to Law School and getting married to a 21 yearold blonde. He wants to own many cars and a huge house. Marvin has set many goals in his life and plans to achieve those goals. Throughout his life all he wants to do is leant more, and that is what makes him an excellent student. Computer Technology Student Writer: Marcos Gutierm John Fellows is the son of Brian daughter of Dim and Kathy Lewis. She is the Sterling Scholar for Dance. She has the GPA of 3.49. To maintain such a high GPA and high standards, her classes are precalculus. college English, Spanish 2, and concurrent enrollment for interior design. She is assistant Drill Mistress and has been on Drill team for four years. This year Holly was announced AlIRcgion, and participated in the tryouts for State. Mindi Hilton Sterling Scholar Foreign Language Student W'riter: Rosilyn Peterson Mindi Hilton, daughter of Gary and Kengie Hilton, was nominated Sterling Scholar in the category of Foreign Language. The language she competed with was Spanish. Mindi plans to go. to college at She is taking classes in Comp. Applications, AP Biology, Interior Design, and P.E., and maintains a GPA of 3.69. Mindi is the MVP in crosscountry, and has received a CC achievement award, has accepted awards in both Spanish and science, and was a member of the National Honor Society during her Junior year. Mindi enjoys hanging out with her friends, riding her horses, and playing with her little sister. She is always happy, has a good attitude, outgoing, and is always fun. To receive this high honor, you need to have a high GPA, take required classes, and apply your knowledge to the field. Rachels GPA for the last quarter was a 3.8, which is exceptionally good. She has taken classes relating to nursing and classes to give her college credit. Nick Williams Sterling Scholar Social Science Student W'riter Vance Robinson Nick Williams is the North Summit Sterling Scholar of Social Science. Social Science involves classes such as history, U.S. and World History, social studies, law, and politics. To receive this award Nick applied and went to Boys Slate. He also did extensive studies in the social studies field, and he represented North Summit at Senate Youth Council. After receiving this award he has to do a portfolio containing all of his awards and service that he has dime. They also have to do a service project. Nick is creating a monument for those North Summit Alumni who died on the battlefield of World War It. He is also petitioning the school board on behalf of those who did not graduate because they left high school for war purposes, to receive honorary graduate awards with the Class of 20fX). Dana has also been a member of the math team for three years. He is involved in Jazz, Concert. Pep band . and is currently in Choir. Dana has performed at many concerts, solo ensemble, region competitions, and state competitions. Dana has played the trumpet for nine years and currently teaches trumpet lessons. Dana's future plans are to serve an I.DS mission, get married in the Salt Ijike Temple, and have a couple of kids. She has lived in Coalville all her life and attends North Summit High School. She is this years Business and Marketing Ed. Sterling Scholar. Her hobbies are reading and writing, and her favorite food is chocolate. Valerie has participated in Track and Cross Country Track all four years of high school. She has a 4.0 GPA and was named to this year's Cross Country Academic All State Team. She is also currently the Math Team's Jiighcsl scorer.
