He requires trimness in dress and neatness in regards to shaving, shoes shined and clothes cleaned. In short, Chief Vetterli has instituted a program of discipline dis-cipline and he states that while the men objected to some of the rules at first, they are beginning to see that it puts the department depart-ment on a better level. m REED C.
