Show sion, where fruit and other refresh ments were freely given to all present, and a very eujoyablo time was had. Brother Woodruffs amiablo wife accompauies him and during her few days sojourn in this city has made many friends by her kind and encouraging words and affable manner, and she is a lady whom to know is to love. On Saturday, December 11, 1897 the Priesthood meeting of tho St. George Stake convened in the St. George Tabernacle and there was an unusual large attendance of presiding pre-siding officers of the Stake as word had been sent out that apostle A. O. Woodruff would bo present at the Conference and all were anxious anx-ious to see aud hear him as the very name of Woodruff carries a pleasant feeling to the hearts of the Latter-day Saints, and when he spoke to the people, which he did in all the meetings during conference, con-ference, it sounded as music in the ears of the people, and many could be heard to say that his words had the right ring to them, for they could f -el that he spoko by the inspiration in-spiration of God. Tho conference is one long to be remembered by the people of this Stake, as much good instruction was given by all tho speakers. On Tuesday brother Woodruff took a pleasure trip over quail hunting grounds visited by his father in years gone by. Tuesday evening he and others visited tho Santa Clara where held a meeting with the Saints of that thriving little settlement and spake to them for some time in their own mother tongue, which was a treat to them in very deed.
