Show Tb.0 Ootionwood Water. Our reporter called on one of the committe who went to investigate investi-gate the feasibility of bringing the Cottonwood water into St. George, and in answer to the question"whai is the result of your explorations?" he said: On the 22nd of January Mayor Brown, and the 1 five councilors, with Thomas Judd,Ho ratio Pickett and S. L. Adams started for the head waters of the Cottonwood. They explored the country and made some preliminary surveys to find a feasible route to bring the waters of the Cottonwood into St. George. We took levels, commencing commenc-ing about one mile below the forka and found a beautiful grade and good earth to make a ditch in. The ditch will scarcely be 4 milei in length, with one tunnel near three hundred feet long. The said ditch will deliver the water, with ample fall, into the head of thd Washington hollow. On our return we found ample reservoir sites, so that the water can saved up during the winter months to be used in summer when it is most needed. The committe were a unit in every respect as to the feasibility of the route. |
