The schools, colleges and State! and ..public institutions will -be appropriately represented. ; j " The Queen's float will be the most elaborate and expensive affair that was ever constructed for a carnival. There will be real Indians and original pioneers in the battle scene on the "1845" float. One of the features on the pioneer mining float, where the mjners are panning gold from the gulches, will be a real. waterfall, and native gold will be taken from the gravel. The court and other officials of j every county in the State should be in the procession, which will mark the greatest era of progress ever known to Utah. Every hill-top around Salt Lake will be ablaze with fiery glory on the night of July 4th, and the sky will be filled with pyrotechnic displays never before equaled or witnessed in the West. H. F. McGarvie is director-general of the Midsummer Carnival, and the Executive Committee is composed of Ernest G. Rognon, John Q. Cannon, J. Wash Young, S. V. Shelp, Jacob Moritz and F. W. ..
