She complained com-plained of pains in her chest and had a bad cough. I gave her Chamberlain's Chamber-lain's Cough Remedy according to directions and in two days she was well and able to go to school. I have used this remedy in my family for the past seven years and have never known it to fail," says James Prendergast, merchant, Annato Bay, Jamaica, West India Islands. The pains in the chest indicated an approaching attack of pneumonia, which in this instance was undoubtedly un-doubtedly warded off by Chamberlain's Chamber-lain's Cough Jtemedy. It counteracts any tendency of a cold toward pneumonia. pneu-monia. Sold by Springville Drug Co. The most important place in an ordinary Utah town is that of the Mormon bishop. All were more or less under the influence of liquor, but behaved fairly well -for a time. Suddenly LeRastas, who is familiarly known here as "Rasty," b'ecame angry at something and in a moment or two had created a sizeable rough house. When Mrs. VauNorstlall started to quell the riot the unknown hobo vanished into the night, while Rasty made his exit from the restaurant through the glass door and into the arms of Marshal Hall. Rasty threw money on the counter to pay for the supper, but Johnson promptly seized it before the lady of the house could Interfere. Deputy Mell Harnier collared Johnson, and Rastv, who was now crazed with booze and anger, got very "rusty." The trip from the restaurant to the jail was a lurid affair. Fear and insanity gave Rasty strength and he fought, bit and kicked, giving Marshal Hall anil his deputies their money's worth. He was especially handy with his teeth. Ou Monday Rasty was bound over by Judge Westwood to the district court ou charge of resisting an officer and Johnson for obtaining food under false pretenses. Both are in jail at Provo in default of ball. The former p'ead guilty, but later changed his plea and will fight the case. White's Millinery Shop Gets Badly Scorched The group of brick business houses on Stale street south of the Bank had a narrow escape from total destruction by lire yesterday morning. A9 it turned out the blaze resulted in damages to building and goods to the amount of $400 or $500. The amount Can only be roughly estimated. M. E. White's millinery and furnishing goods store was the only sufferer. The blaze was discovered at about 2:15 a. m. by Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Groesbeck, who occupy rooms over Miss Curtis' millinery store next door, the smoke coming into their rooms. Jesse at once gave the alarm, which was quickly responded to and the fire was soon extinguished. In less than ten minute9 it was nil over. The indications at present are that the fire was of incendiary origin-. An inspection of the premises reveals the fact that the fire started at three different points in as many corners of the room, and hud not had time to become united in a general blaze. For two of these lires material had been collected. For the third material seems to have beeirfound on the spot. In each of the places the double floor had burned through. The rear door was found to be unlocked, though Mrs. White is sure she fastened it securely when frhe closed the pluco on the preceding evening. The front door and rear window were broken in during the course of the fight with the flames. It would npptar also from statements of those early on the scene and from the appearance of goods, that coal oil might have been used to start the bltize. Two of the fires were under tables luden with goods and about fifteen feet apart, while the smaller and most unimportant blaze was in an open space near the stove, where material had been hastily collected. It would seem that I hi) incendiary had planned the work carefully, but had been too busty in carrying out the plans. The stock is insured for $900 and the fixtures for $100. Albert Staten, who owns the building, is amply protected, both in fire and plate glass insurance. Marringo Licenses.
