A ,' ! !f I ' i ilh It was only one mile away but it broadened our understanding of what happens at a newspaper by miles. The students of Art City Elementary Journalism club at the invitation of Mr. Conover get a behind-the-scenes tour of what happens to the pictures and articles that are sent off. They learned how they are laid out what education it takes to be a reporter and the type of equipment used. Thank you Springville Herald for the behind the scenes glimpse. Next stop for us to see the printing process. - f 17 v 1 ft I """"ST 'I L, I Hr -n0( if) 'A. . ; f I ... sf-a '1 Story time at the Springville Museum of Art have been a fun and unique opportunity for children to interact and learn from artists in the community. In conjunction with the children's book art exhibit "Unbound" featuring illustrators il-lustrators with Utah connections, con-nections, the museum has been hosting story times at 11 a.m. oin Saturdays, with illustrators whose art is exhibited ex-hibited on the walls. On Oct. 25 Howard Ful-mer Ful-mer read his book "The King's Highway" and delighted de-lighted his audience with anecdotes and jokes. He pointed out "pieces of Paris" in his illustrations, where certain patterns, colors or backdrops were inspired by sights in Paris, France. Sherry Meidell read "The Centaur" and "Full Steam Ahead" at story time on Nov. 1, and brought a large brass horn as a sound effect ef-fect for the train! Every illustrator in the exhibit has a different method, technique, style and imagination, and story time has been an exciting excit-ing way to learn about art, writing and children's books! This series will continue until Dec. 13th.
