Show 'SPRING. VILLE HERALD Thursday, November 6, 2008 President must be a natural born citizen Editor: The Constitution of the United States of America establishes that "natural born citizenship" be a requirement re-quirement for presidency. presiden-cy. Last month Philip Berg, a Pennsylvania lawyer, .filed a lawsuit against Barack Obama that would have required Obama to be present for examination his birth certificate(s). Attached is the lawsuit. law-suit. Please review the charges. The lawsuit has been dismissed by a certain cer-tain Judge Surrick, who claims: "regardless of questions of causation, the grievance griev-ance remains too generalized general-ized to establish the exis-s tence of an injury in fact. To reiterate: a candidate's candi-date's ineligibility under the, Natural Born Citizen' Citi-zen' GJause does not result re-sult in an injury in fact to voters." (Read more at'4 http:www.news-withviews.comDevvy http:www.news-withviews.comDevvy kidd407.htm) Regardless of the opin-iofcfof opin-iofcfof that judge, I would consider it a great injury to us as voters tohave an ineligible candidate svjforn in to the highest office of our government against the explicit conditions con-ditions established in our constitution. This is not a question of party preference prefer-ence but of upholding the constitution. In the case of natural born citizenship, a candidate candi-date must be considered "guilty until proveninno-cent": proveninno-cent": if heshe CANNOT prove that heshe was born within the United States (or on U.S. military bases abroad, according to the established rules for citizenship), we nfust assume they are NOT. No "stated birth" claims should be accepted ("Stated income" mort- gage loans have caused us a world of hurt in this nation. Let's not make the same mistake with the highest office of the United States Government.) Govern-ment.) Was Obama born in Kenya, Ke-nya, or Honolulu? Who witnessed the birth?! Which doctor? Which hospital? A Hawaii birth certificate is NOT necessarily neces-sarily evidence of location of birth, no matter the "place of birth" claimed by parents and stated to the registrars-especially if Hawaii's policy is they will register the birth of a child born outside Take; the "crap" out of Scrapbooking 0 1- Our Scrapbooking kiosks ; are so easy you might as well have jus-fc come out of 1he Stone Age! If you do not think the natural born citizenship citizen-ship requirement is such an important issue, then please understand that it takes an amendment to the constitution to change that policy. Not an easy undertaking. Not one that is going to happen between now and election day. That being the case, Barack and every other candidate candi-date must meet the requirements re-quirements established by the constitution.
