Knowlton Mrs. Knowlton dies on June 5 Nellie Dibble Knowlton, 96, an early, long-time resident of Springville, died Friday, June 5, 1975 at the home of Mrs. LaVon Hales in Salt Lake City following a long illness. . She was born April 25, 1879 to Loran and Lizette Pierce Dibble. She married William B. Knowlton, March 2, 1922 in Pocatello, Idaho. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He died March 11, 1942. She was a member and Captain in the Spanish American War Veterans Auxiliary. Survivors include a niece, Lois G. Watts, Boise, Idaho; and the following cousins: La Von Hales, Etta R. Carlson, Dean Dallin, all of Salt Lake City; Cleo P. Heavener, Lucile Blanchard both of Springville; Jessie P. Perkins, Smithfield, Murtle P. Price, Ogden; Mae.tha P. Mehr, Downey, California; Norman C. Pierce, Spanish Fork. Funeral services were held . Monday at noon at the Deseret Mortuary. Peterson, 98, of Springville, died of causes incident to age Saturday, June 7, 1975 at the home of her daughter in Springville. She was born May 19, 1877 in Ellerbeck, Germany, to Hinrich and Magdalena Dorothea Pharoa Petersen. She married Peter Adam Peterson on Jan. 10, .1906 in the Salt Lake IDS -Temple, and he died in 1942. Mrs. Peterson moved to Utah in 1891, and lived in Salem from 1906 until 1963, when she moved to Springville. Active in the IDS Church, she was Primary counselor and Relief Society visiting teacher. Survivors include one son and one daughter, Clarence A. Peterson, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Vernon (Norma) Castleton, Springville; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services were Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Kolob Stake Center with Bishop Dean Mason of Springville 11th Ward officiating. Burial was in the Salem City Cemetery. Sister dies on June 8 Funeral services for Bertha Nelson Potter, 77, of Manila, who died of a stroke Sunday. June 8, 1975 in a Rock Springs, Wyo., hospital, were held Wednesday in the Manila IDS Ward Chapel. She was the sister of Mrs. Tillie Bascom, Springville. . Mrs. Potter was born Jan. 14, 1898 in Manila to Daniel and Matilda Warby Nelson. She married Timothy Potter on Feb. 2, 1914 in Green River, Wyo., and the marriage was solemnized later in. the Salt' Lake IDS Temple. Mrs. Potter was active in church auxiliaries, She helped to organize the M&L Homemakers club and had served on the Washam District School Board.
