Warren Beardall has gone to Reno, Nevada, where he will be employed with Lindly and company, com-pany, wholesalers. Mr. Beardall has been employed with Zions' Wholesale company at Provo, the past five years. Mrs. Beardall will join her husband in the near future. fu-ture. Floyd Holley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Holley of Mapleton, will leave January 13, on a Swiss-German Swiss-German mission. In his honor a banquet and dance social was given giv-en at the Mapleton amusement hall Wednesday night. A farewell testimonial will be held for him Sunday night, with a splendid program pro-gram arranged for the occasion. All ward members and friends are invited to attend. The annual report of the Strawberry Straw-berry Water Users' association, given at a meeting Friday night, showed the association to be in good financial condition. No assessments as-sessments or revenues have been made by the association the past two years. The government moratorium mora-torium on water projects has assisted as-sisted the association in maintaining maintain-ing its financial standing, Secretary Secre-tary Gienn Sumsion reported. The Black Hawk committee have recently completed the construction con-struction of enough tables to seat 500 persons, in preparation for the annual Black Hawk reunion to be held January 22, at Memorial hall. Boyer of Springville was elected a member of the county farm bureau board, at a recent meeting of the organization, held at Provo. A reorganization of the Springville Spring-ville Irrigation company is now completed, with the re-election of Arthur Finley, president; L. G. Sumsion. vice president, and Glenn Sumsion, secretary - treasurer. These officers with T. V. Phillips, Spender Sumsion, Dewey Bird, and Joseph Wheeler, constitute the board of directors. Mendenhall, Sr., of this city, was Monday night selected at the regional executive board meeting at Provo, as one of three veteran scouters to receive the Silver Buffalo award for outstanding outstand-ing service to scouting. Dr. L. D. Pfouts of Payson and Roy Passey of Provo were other members chosen. Tre awards will be presented pre-sented at the March meeting of the executive board. Mr. Mendenhall Men-denhall also was honored by being selected to represent the council with two other representatives, at the national council, in May. A meeting of the Springville Townsend club will be held January Janu-ary 14 at the high school, beginning begin-ning at 7:30 p. m. Gilman Beeley, state commander from California, is expected to be in attendance as the principal speaker. An excellent excel-lent program also is arranged for the occasion, under the direction of President George L. Hyde. All club members and others interested inter-ested are invited to attend. ' |
