Their instructor Mrs. Jack Evans was in charge. Each gill came attired in a unique costume cos-tume which added spirit to the pi ogrum of games and music. A letter from Miss -Martha Moore, who is doing Missionary Mis-sionary work in Africa, was read by Mrs. Cody, after which Mrs. E. V. Borman led a discussion on, the fiist chapter of the hook "India on the March." This book is to be reviewed re-viewed at the various meetings of the society this season. Concluding the meeting a dainty lunch was served by the hostess to 15 members and guests present. The October meeting of the Daughters of the Pioneers, camp No. 2, will be held next Thursday at the home of Mrs. M. O. Packard. The life history of Spicer Crandali will be a feature of the afternoon together with a fine program. "A Pledge To the Flag" paper, Riven by Mrs. A. C. Bird was an especially interesting feature of the meeting as was also the talk on "A Drill in Parliamentary Parliament-ary Law," given by Attorney G. G. Woodmansee of this city. In addition addi-tion to these a delightful musical program was given with vocal solos by Miss. Catherine R. Doug-all Doug-all and a piano duet by Misses Sarah Marie and Mabel Binks. A dainty luncheon carrying out a suggestion of autumn was served by the hostess. Sixteen member were present. Mrs. Roed Staw was a guest. Mrs. Colestia Boyer has returned return-ed to her home from Salt Lake. City where she has spent the past week with her sons and families there. Finley was hostess to the ladies oi the Home Culture club at her home Friday afternoon. Two interesting papers were given on "The Problem of the Unemployed," by Miss Sophia Packard and the other, "A Brief Resume of the De cline of Silver," by Mrs. Glenn D. Woodmansee, read by Mrs. Nephi Gledhill. Howard McKenzie gave a pantomime of "The Last Farewell.'' A f ter the program conducted, by Mrs. C. F. An interesting review of the book "In the Garden of Allrth" was given together wih piano solos by Miss Evelyn Miner. Preceding the program pro-gram of the afternoon a delicious luncheon was served at three small A number of relatives and friends enjoyed a canyon party at Kelleys grove, Wednesday evening. A delicious deli-cious supper was served early in the evening at the Her Weight cabin with Mr. and Mrs. Weight as host and hostess. A splendid program featured thi opening social of the Fourth ward Relief; society Tuesday afternoon, which was given as follows: reading, read-ing, by Mrs. Ella Reynolds; piano and violin duet, Miss Hazel Anderson Ander-son and Miss Gloria Friel; poem, Mrs. Maggie Wood; vocal solos, Mrs. Cora T. Bird. After the program pro-gram the ladies present spent a delightful time with games-and refreshments re-freshments were served to a large crowd present. |
