Show : i SOCIETY 1 An interesting social event of the week was given Tuesday evening when members of the Gleaner class of the Second ward of this city ' were entertained at a Hallowe'en party it the home of Miss Inez ; Jessee. The entertaining rooms were decorated in colors and mot-; mot-; tiffs appropriate for the occasior I y One especially interesting event 1 ' of the evening was the jaunt taken , to Hallowe'en land to which place the girls were led by a string where j ; they encountered ghosts, witches, ( and goblins and heard mysterious t whispering in haunted dens. A number of clever games conducted by Miss Vesta Anderson furnished i much amusement. Mr. and Mrs. William Elack and daughters Mrs. Fred Miller and Mrs. Gale of this city, left this week for a visit with relatives in New-Mexico. New-Mexico. Before their return they will also spend some time at Mesa, Arizona, where they expect to attend at-tend the dedication services of the new L. D. S. temple. Will Boycr of Salt Lake spent the past week with his mother, Mrs. Colcstia Boyer of this city. A pleasant time was spent Wednesday Wed-nesday when Mrs. Hattie Blackett entertained at a dinner at her home in compliment to her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Giles whose eighty-sixth eighty-sixth birthday occurred that day. Autumn flowers were used in decorating dec-orating also a large birthday cake centered the dining table. Covers were laid for the following guests: Mrs. Francis Peterson, Mrs. Sam- uel Buckley, Mrs. Ellen Wheeler, Mrs. Mary Zabriskie, Mrs. Dorothy heeler, Mrs. Agnes Mc Key, Alfred Al-fred Giles and the honor guest. During the afternoon a beautiful quilt was quilted. A delicious luncheon . was served late in the evening to the following guests: Miss Ethel Taylor, Miss Mabel Averett, Miss Myrle Blackett, Black-ett, Miss Lucy Lavanger, Miss Goldie Jenkins, Miss Virginia Whit-taker, Whit-taker, Miss Margaret Bird. Mrst L. E. Faux, Mrs. Norma Crandall, Mrs. O. L. Barron, Mrs. Amasia Rowland, Row-land, Miss Faux and Mrs. Mart Crandall. Miss Crandall received many ' beautiful gifts from her friends present. A number of local Kiwanis mem-; mem-; hers and their partners were guests Thursday evening at the banquet, I program, and dance given by the ; Spanish Fork Kiwanians. One lady from each of the towns was awarded a prize. Their names were called one by one at which time the ladies sat down. Each guest came to the party dressed to represent different differ-ent characters.
