Show DEATH TAKES AGED MAN OF SPRINGVILLE Peter Madsen, 87, a native of Denmark and a resident of Springville since 1923, died Saturday Satur-day at 2 a. m., at the family residence resi-dence Eight South, First West street, of ailments incident to his age. Mr. Madsen lost his sight about two years ago and had been in ill health for about four years. He was born March 27, 1857, at Simmelkjar, Den., a son of Mads Peter Dremgar and Anna K. Hendrichsen. He came to Utah in 1883, settling in Spanish Fork, and later going to Mapleton where he had always been a faithful member of the LDS church and at the time of his death was a high priest. His first wife was Karen Marie Madsen. tsne died in iyuY, and tne following year, he married Mrs. Christina Jensen. 1 Survivors include his widow and the following sons and daughters, Lawrence, M. Madsen, Cotton, Calif.; James A. Madsen, and Mrs. A. G. Wright, San Ber-nadino, Ber-nadino, Calif., Lyman Madsen, a yeoman first class in the navy stationed at Banana River, Fla.; Mrs. Elsie Duke of Provo, and Mrs. Myrtle Erickson of Springville. Spring-ville. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted today at 2 p. m. in the Second ward chapel. Friends may call at the family residence before the services. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery directed by C. O. Claud-in Claud-in funeral home. |
