Show BDY HUNTER 15 KILLED; THREE HURT South Jordon Hoy Shot To Death by Companion; Utah County Men Injured By Stray Buckshot. SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 3 (UP) An accidental shot by Richard Schouting instantly killed 11-year-old Lee Naylor, South Jordan, while the boys were hunting pheasants Sunday. There was only one gun in the group of five boys who set forth Sunday morning In quest of Chinese pheasants. Opening of the pheasant season Sunday was marked by this death and the injuries of five other pheasant hunters. Three Utah county men were injured in-jured in hunting accidents marking mark-ing the opening of the Utah pheasant pheas-ant and quail season, Sunday. Eye Injured Thomas Carter, 40, of Springville, Spring-ville, was struck in the eye by shot from a hunters' gun west of Springville early Sunday morning. It was feared Sunday that he would lose the sight of the eye . but reports from Springville Monday declared that there is a possibility that the sight will be restored. Murray Loveless, 17, was hit in the leg by the same charge that injured Carter. Both men were given medical attention at the Springville hospital. Carter is reported to be recovering recover-ing as well as can be expected. The sight of his left eye, which was thought as first to have gone, will be restored, according to attending physicians. Marion Adamson, of Pleasant Grove, was the third man in the county that was injured, receiving a small blast of buckshot in his neck. Adamson was given medical attention at a Provo hospital. An X-ray photo will be taken Monday afternoon to see if there are any shots still remaining in his neck. His condition is not serious. |
