Show AGED PIONEER WOMAN DIES Mrs. Lucina Mecham Boren Suddenly Passes Away After Taking Walk A few minutes after she had 1 taken a walk around the place, Mrs. Lucina Mocbam Boren, 84, died Sunday Sun-day evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Snow, in the Sixth ward. She was born in Iowa, March 11, 1841, the dnughter of Moses and Elvira Derby Mecham. The family lived in Nnuvoo, 111., nnd then moved westward in the "Mormon' exodns, arriving in Salt Lake October 10, 1853. Mrs. Boren who was then 12 years of age walked most of the I distance across' the plains. Thel family lived in Lehi less than a year and then moved to Provo, where she! later married W. Jasper Boren. Mrs. Boren moved to Wallsburg in 1863. being one of the first settlers sett-lers of that section. She had always I been a faithful member of her HiiirHi nnd had done extensiwe tempi work In th Manti and the Salt Lak temples. She was the mother of 13 children 10 of whom survive her. She is also survived by 78 grand children, 102 great grand children, and one great great grand child. The surviving children are W. J. Boren, Samuel Boren, C. C. Boren and Mrs. D. L. Bigelow of Wallsburg; Walls-burg; Mrs. Austin Glenn, Roosevelt; Moses M. Boren, Crawford. Colo-1 rado; Mrs. James Wall, Granite; Mrs. O. C. Marrletti, Mrs. Arthur Snow and Wilford W. Boren, Provo. . Funeral services will be held in Wallsburg under the direction of the Hatch Funeral home of Provo. ! The: time will be; announced later. |
