Show Miss Garnick, Mr. Zobell Announce Engagement ;S . - With high school commencement commence-ment exercises, there are always graduates announcing engagements engage-ments and approaching marriage. This commencement week is no exception. One of the high school graduates, gradu-ates, Miss Winifred Garnick, prominent in music circles and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ford Burt, is engaged to Walt Zobell, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Zobell. The marriage is to take place at the home of the bride's parents, Saturday night, June 7, in the presence of the immediate families. fami-lies. The young couple will make their home in Springville. MK.MBERS OF ft ARTISTE STAFF WE I! E ENTERTAINED at a party Monday night at the home of Miss Naomi Peirce. Bowling and swimming were enjoyed first at Park Ro-She, and a delicious luncheon was served later at the Peirce home to the following: Mark Eddington, Elliot Cameron, Kent Thorn, Reed Brockbank, Max Morgan, Carma Crandall, Shirley Bagley, Jane Strong, Helen Clegg, Dick Miner, Helen Bray, Helen Christensen, Doris Wing, and the hostess. MRS. ERVIXG ROYLAXCE ENTERTAINED AT A shower at her home one day last week for Miss Florence Hardy, who will marry Finley Roylance in the near future. Miss Lucy Roylance Roy-lance was assisting hostess. Lunch was served first from tables centered with bridal wreath and tulips, after which Monte Carlo Whist was played, with high score going to Mrs. Evelyn Jordan Jor-dan and the consolation to May Finley. Approximately 2 4 attended the party, presenting Miss Hardy with many beautiful and useful gifts. THE ALPHA BETA CLUB EXTERTAIXED MOTHERS at a delightful party Friday at the home of Mrs. Ada Straw. Mrs. Henry Weight gave a speech of welcome and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Condie gave a tribute to mothers. mo-thers. Gifts were then presented to the mothers and guests, after which Mrs. J. O. Reynolds re- sponded. String music was played by Colleen and Thora Lewis and Carol Condie. The Sargent children sang songs and Mrs. Owen Rowe of Spanish Fork gave two readings.
