Show Butler-Roimdy Marriage T o Take Place Today "Announcement of interest to l0Cal relatives and friends is the forthcoming marriage of Edmound H. Roundy of this city and Verla Butler of Spring Lake. P., ENTERTAINED on Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Golda Huntington. Assisting hostesses were Mrs. I Dorothy Haymond, Mrs. Jennie Starr, Mrs. Elizabeth Hutchings, Mrs. Susanna Boyer, and Mrs. , Fern Lee. j The afternoon program featured I an interesting lesson by Mrs. Delia Harris and Mrs. Josie Alleman told an interesting history of her father's fa-ther's home. Louise Clyde entertained enter-tained with accordian selections. At the close of the meeting tasty refreshments were served by the hostesses. CLYDE I WAS HOSTESS THURSDAY ' evening to members of the Ladies Literary club at the last regular i meeting of this season. President ' Julia Sumsion was in charge of , the program. Following a delicious luncheon served by the hostess, Mrs. Ruby Christensen, in an interesting manner, man-ner, reviewed the book "The Moon Is Down," by John Steinbeck. Mrs. Joseph L. Pace entertained with two lovely piano selections. She also assisted her mother with the serving. Ar the close of the program, a short business meeting was conducted con-ducted in which Mrs. Arva Bone submitted her resignation from the club and Mrs. Bess Mendenhall was elected to succeed her as club vice-president. Mrs. Bone, who is moving to Lehi to make her home, was presented with a lovely gift. The financial report of the year was also given during the evening by Mrs. 'LaRue Walker, secretary. In attendance were eighteen club members and four guests, the latter including Mrs. Anna Mendenhall, Men-denhall, Mrs. W. W. Clyde, Mrs. E. V. Crandall, and Mrs. George Adams. A CROUP OF FRIENDS WERE ENTERTAINED at the home of Veon Bird at Ma-pleton Ma-pleton Thursday evening. Early in the evening a delicious dinner was served at one long table centered with spring flowers. Covers were arranged for Phyllis Phyl-lis Bird, Marjorie Simkins, Louise Clyde, Helen Christensen, Luella Huntington, Lucille Oakley, Wilna Brown, Cecelia Maycock, and the hostess. The group spent the evening eve-ning writing in yearbooks. MAPLETON THIRD YEAR 4-H GROUP MET Thursday at the home of their leader, Mae Neilson, at their first regular meeting of the season. Officers were elected as follows: President, Carma Hopla; vice-president, vice-president, Joyce Thorpe; secretary-treasurer, Melva Dean Bird; song and cheer leader, Helen Hol-ley; Hol-ley; reporter, Joyce Murdock. CAMP HOBBLE CREEK D. U. P. MET WEDNESDAY . at the home of Mrs. Gladys Felix, with Mrs. Donna Whiting of Ma-pleton Ma-pleton and Mrs. Utahna Felix as assisting hostesses. Anna Beardall, former camp captain, opened the meeting and then turned the program over to the new captain, Myrtle Childs. The evening's entertainment consisted con-sisted of a history of her great-grandparents, great-grandparents, by Mrs. . Utahna Felix and the lesson on early colonizing in Salt Lake City, by Myrtle Childs. The group also discussed plans for the Brigham Young dinner to be conducted the third Wednesday in June to raise funds for the Memorial building . in Salt Lake City. At the close of the meeting, refreshments re-freshments were served to approximately ap-proximately 20 camp members. MAPLETON CAMP, D. V. P., MET THURSDAY afternoon at the home of Mrs. Martha Houtz. The camp lesson was given in an interesting manner man-ner by Mrs. Priscilla LeRoy. A number of letters found in the Relief society box opened recently re-cently were read by members. Norma Cox entertained with piano selections and in conclusion a tasty lunch was served to approximately 26 members and guests. Mrs. Ida B. Whiting was in charge of the meeting and hostesses hos-tesses for "the afternoon were Mrs. Belva Johnson, Mrs. Martha Houtz, and Mrs. Ella Johnson. THE PARI PASSU CLUB MET ON FRIDAY at the home of Bernice Palfrey-man Palfrey-man at the last regular meeting of this season. Mrs. Max Sumsion, Sum-sion, president, was in charge of the program. A report on the war bond and stamp sales in the club was made, and after group singing Mrs. Joseph Jo-seph Hansen reviewed the book "Untying Apron Strings," by Helen Gibson Hogue. Spring flowers were arranged about the entertaining rooms and a tasty luncheon was served by the hostess. Members present were: Mrs. Jerry Manson, Mrs. Joseph Hansen, Han-sen, Mrs. Woodrow Thompson, Mrs. Walter Clark, Mrs. Burton Johnson and Mrs. Louis Harmer of Provo, Beth Miller, Martha Bird, Naomi Weight, Mrs. LaRell Johnson, Mrs. Max Sumsion, Mrs. William Clyde, Mrs. Frances Hazel, Ha-zel, and Mrs. Kay Johnson of this city, members. Mrs. Frank Springer, Spring-er, Mrs. Grant Palfreyman, and Carol Condie were special guests. A DELIGHTFUL PARTY WAS GIVEN SATURDAY evening by Harrison Conover, manager man-ager of the Art City Publishing company,' for employees and their partners at Luke's Hot Pots, to celebrate the completion by the company of ten yearbooks for high schools throughout the state. Early in the evening, the group enjoyed swimming and later a delicious de-licious chicken dinner. Attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Conner, Con-ner, Mr. and Mrs. Kimball J. Lar-scn, Lar-scn, Mr. and Mrs. Orval Single-n, Single-n, Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Weight, Mr. and Mrs. Blain Miner, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Brown, and Martin Hiatt of Provo.
