( I Mr. ancMrs. Gerald Luker, nee Phyllis Robinson Reception Follows Church Wedding For New Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Luker A pretty wedding of January 18, was that of Miss Phyllis Robinson, charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Robinson, and Gerald Luker. son of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Luker of Orem, which took place in a church ceremony, performed by Bishop R. W. Bradford of the First ward. The rites were witnessed by immediate relatives and close friends. Shortly after the marriage, the young couple were honored with a reception in the First ward hall, at which a large crowd of relatives and friends attended. The bride was attired in a pretty brocaded satin and net, floor-length floor-length gown, and from a crown of tiny seed pearls fell a finger-tip veil of silk net. She carried a bouquet bou-quet of white carnations and red rosea. Attending the bride was her sister, sis-ter, Clara Jean Robinson as maid of honor and the Misses Zelda Warren, Gwen Johnson, Arlene Dodds and Lois Burr were bridesmaids. brides-maids. Each was attired in a pastel pas-tel formal and wore a corsage of pink rose-buds and lillies of the valley. Raymond Johnson, friend of the groom, was best man. Assisting in the receiving line were the parents of the bride and groom. Mrs. Robinson wore blue and black evening dress with an orchid and lillies of the valley corsage. cor-sage. Mrs. Luker was attired in deep gray with an orchid and lilly-of-th valley corsage. An entertaining program was a feature of the reception with Gerald Ger-ald E. Bybee acting as toast-master. toast-master. ; As the bridal party entered the amusement hall, music was played by Henrietta Early, who also played the wedding march. A reading was given by Helen Ash; a solo, Janice Marchant; a reading, Joan Marsh; toe dancing, Judy Hutchings; vocal and instrumental instru-mental duet, Freeman Bird and Glenn Holley; accordian solo, Esther Es-ther Rae Young; acrobatics, Connie Con-nie Hatfield; toast to the bride and groom, Bishop Welby Warren of Mapleton. In charge of the gift room were: Mrs. Renee Cope, aunt of the bride; Mrs. Hope Ellison, sister of tha groom; Mrs. Clara Wooley, aunt of the bride. Receiving the gifts were little Glenda Robinson, Colleen Hatfield, Shauna Lu Parcell, Elaine Simmons. Sim-mons. Mrs. Geraldine Sawyer, sister sis-ter of the groom, was in chai'go of the bride-book. Attractive and tasty refreshments refresh-ments in white, green and pink were served by the Misses Dixie Robinson, Rosalie Ellison, Carma Lee Dodds, and Maurine Kennedy, directed by Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Taylor. Mrs. Florence Shepherd and Mrs. Doris Shepherd. The room was decorated for the reception with baskets of red roses and bouquets of peach roses and green ferns. A 3-tiered wedding wed-ding cake, topped by a miniature bride and groom centered the lace-covered lace-covered table. The couple left after the reception re-ception on a few days wedding trip. For her going-away outfit, the bride wore a green suit with red rose corsage. They are making their home in Orem. |
