Show High School Reunion September 6 to Commemorate 50th Anniversary Summer reunions and friendly get-togethers will be climaxed on September 6, Labor Day, when a reunion re-union of all graduates of the Springville high school will be held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first graduation grad-uation class from the Springville high school. To be planned around the Golden Gol-den Jubilee anniversary theme, the reunion will feature a gathering of all former students at 2 p.m., at the high school auditorium. A pro gram will be presented at 3 o'clock and will be followed by luncheon. Howard Maycock, elected president pres-ident of ' the Alumni Association at the first annual reunion a few years ago, will act as general chairman of arrangements for this year's Golden Jubilee anniversary. Attorney Glen W. Sumsion has been asked to draw up articles for a permanent Alumni Association with a project in mind of rendering render-ing support to the art movement in Springville, Mr. Maycock said. A nominating committee will also present names for reunion officers and other business will be completed complet-ed to effect the organization. Chairman of the program committee com-mittee for this year's reunion is Dr. Myron Crandall of Salt Lake City, who will be assisted by Elmo Coffman and Paul Haymond. Publicity and invitations is in charge of Mrs. Margaret Conover, assisted by Mrs. Zina Condie, Mrs. Catherine Wills and Dave Friel. Frank Cranmer is chairman of the house and reception committee commit-tee and will select his aasistants and LaMar Miner has been asked to take charge of the luncheon plans. Also a chairman of each class is to be selected to contact all members of his class and invite them to the reunion. In order to give the committee an estimate of the number to prepare pre-pare for at the luncheon, graduates of the high school are asked to make their reservations by mailing mail-ing the blank found on page 2 of the paper, to the address given, as quickly as possible. Several hundred former graduates grad-uates are expected to be at the reunion which will provide a time to renew old friendships and visit former high school friends. Clip the blank from the paper and make your reservations immediately im-mediately for the reunion event. |
