Show School Official Married Monday Of interest to friends in Springville Spring-ville is announcement of the marriage mar-riage of Owen L. Barnett, superintendent super-intendent of Nebo district schools, and Miss Vesta Wright, demonstrator demon-strator of home economics at Evanston, Wyo., which took place on Monday in the Salt Lake temple. tem-ple. After a short honeymoon trip in the southern parks, Mr. and Mrs. Barnett will make their home in Spanish Fork. CAMP SPRINGVILLE, D. U. P., MET THURSDAY at their first regular meeting of this season at the home of Mrs. Lou Binks. Assisting hostesses were Mrs. Beth Barrett, Mrs. Floss Cates, Mrs. Rena Strong, Mrs. Clara Boyer, Mrs. Maude Wood, and Mrs. Ella Cragun. A delightful program, including a quartet composed of Mrs. Lela Sumsion, Mrs. Emma Long, Mrs. Harvey Robbins, and Mrs. Maude Thorn, entertained with selections, and Mrs. Net Thorn and her son, Grant, gave a vocal duet, with accompaniment ac-companiment by Robert Thorn, a grandson. The lesson on pioneer firemen was given in an interesting manner man-ner by Mrs. Lena Maycock. At the close of the meeting,, the group, with Captain Barrett in charge, conducted a "white elephant" sale, which furnished much entertainment entertain-ment and raised funds for their projects. The entertainment was concluded conclud-ed with refreshments served to a large crowd of members and guests. . - CAMP MAPLETON, D. IT. P., MET ON THURSDAY at the home of Mrs. Claudia Whitney, Whit-ney, with Mrs. Emily Jordan and Mrs. Hattie Jensen as assisting hostesses. Second Vice - Captain Phoebe Perry was in charge .of the afternoon's after-noon's program. The prayer was given by Mrs. Nellie Garlick. Mrs. Rose Curtis gave a talk on "The United Order of Orderville," and Mrs. Alice Johnson on "Pioneer Firemen of Utah." Mrs. Whitney entertained with a piano selection, and Mrs. Nellie Wiscombe, camp captain, gave a report on the recent re-cent state convention. At the conclusion of the meeting, meet-ing, refreshments were served to about 23 camp members and guests. |
