Show Late June Marriage Announced Parents Announcement is being made this week by Mr. and Mrs. William Whitehead of this city of the marriage mar-riage of their daughter, Miss Olga Whitehead, to Golden Smith of Los Angeles, Calif., which took place the latter part of June at Las Vegas, Ve-gas, Nev. Since their marriage, the couple have been making their home in California, but Mr. Smith, who is employed with a railroad company, has now been transferred to Las Vegas. Mrs. Smith, a graduate nurse, is well known in this vicinity, having been employed the past 13 years at various hospitals and as a private pri-vate nurse in Salt Lake City, Provo and Springville. A "NUMBER OF RELATIVES WERE DINNER GUESTS of Mr. and Mrs. William Whitehead White-head at their home on Sunday. There were Mrs. E. G. Ramsey of Baker, Nev., who celebrated her 91st birthday in March, and who is an aunt of Mrs. Whitehead, . and Mrs. Ramsey's sister, Mrs. H. Hat-ten, Hat-ten, 82, of Provo. Both women are active for their age and are able to do their own work. Other guests included Richard Hatten of Provo and Mr. and Mrs. William Barkdull of Malad, Idaho. HOME CULTURE CLUB MEMBERS WERE GUESTS Friday afternoon at an interesting meeting at the home of Mrs. H. M. Dougall, with Mrs. B. M. Mendenhall Menden-hall as assisting hostess. Featuring the program, Mrs. Mae W. Johnson of Provo gave an enlightening paper on poetry supplementing sup-plementing her remarks with a number of poems. Mrs. Ronald Thorpe, club vice-president, was in charge of the meeting, at the conclusion of which a tasty luncheon lunch-eon was served to nineteen club 1 members and one guest, Mrs. Catherine Ca-therine D. Wills. The next meeting of the club was announced for October 24, to be held at Valley Tavern, with Mrs. G. B. Orton as hostess. MRS. F. A. BARRETT WAS CLUB HOSTESS FRIDAY to members of the Mothers' Study group at her home. The ladies enjoyed en-joyed a review of the book, "The Keys of the Kingdom," given by j Mrs. Laura Alleman, and two . piano selections by Robert Thorn. Concluding the meeting, luncheon lunch-eon was served to about 23 members mem-bers and guests, with Hallowe'en favors being employed in the decorative dec-orative scheme. Mrs. Willis Weight and Mrs. Arthur Sumsion were special guests. The end of the world series leaves the nation ready to devote its attention to some of the ser- j ious problems that confront us. I |
