Show Miss Iza Draper, Mr. Karl Bird Speak Nuptial Vows In Temple Ceremony Announcement was made this week of the marriage of Iza Draper Dra-per of Moroni and Karl Bird of Springville. The marriage took place June 11 in the Manti temple. Miss Draper attended Snow college col-lege and Mr. Bird graduated from the U. S. A. C. this year. Immediately following the marriage, mar-riage, the young couple went to Logan, where Mr. Bird is employed employ-ed in the bio-chemistry department at the U. S. A. C. MRS. SARAH DALTON WAS COMPLIMENTED SUNDAY at a birthday dinner celebrating the occasion of her 72nd anniversary anniver-sary held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. F. Burns, of Salt Lake City. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thorn, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Dalton, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Braby, and Robert Burns. F. & A. M., STORY LODGE NO. 4, MET TUESDAY night at the Masonic temple in Provo. Members of Valley chapter and their partners were entertained entertain-ed by Mr. and Mrs. Roy Despain, who showed their motion pictures in color of the river trip they took. Preceding the showing of the motion pictures, Mr. Despain gave a review of the trip in detail. The program wa? sponsored by the educational committee of the Story lodge, F. & A. M., and was under the direction of E. F. Per-ham. Per-ham. Refreshments were served in conclusion to approximately seventy-five. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Phillips and son, Billie, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vane and daughter of Salt Lake Cty, recently returned from an enjoyable trip to Boulder dam and the canyons of southern Utah. COMPLIMENTARY TO MRS. LEO WATTS, A PARTY was held Friday evening at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Nelson Wright, with Mrs. Ray Sumsion, Mrs. Fred Sumsion, and Miss Marie Sumsion acting as hostesses. hos-tesses. A profusion of beautiful roses and peonies decorated the entertaining enter-taining rooms and a delightful program featured the entertainment. entertain-ment. Miss Faye Close gave piano solos, Mrs. Lillian Binks gave two humorous readings, and Mrs. Edith Blanchard gave a vocal solo. Games were played and in conclusion con-clusion a tasty luncheon was served to thirty-two guests. The bride received many lovely gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Donloe Kennedy of Salt Lake City, who just recently returned from a convention in Po-catello, Po-catello, Idaho, spent the week-end visiting with Mrs. Emma Kennedy. |
