Show COUPLE OBSERVE WEDDING Marking their fifty-third wedding wed-ding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. John Hiatt were entertained at dinner at their home, Eighth South and Fourth East, Tuesday evening. A son of Samuel M. and Mary E. Taylor Hiatt, Mr. Hiatt was born in Slaterville, December 26, 1865. He married Laura Meservy, August 12, 1888, at Piano, Madison county, Idaho. Mrs. Hiatt was born at Fish Haven, Bear Lake county, Idaho, May 14, 1870, a daughter of Joseph Jo-seph R. and Laura . Southworth Meservy. During the early part of their married life, the couple lived in a pioneer settlement near St. Anthony, An-thony, Idaho. They later lived in Caldwell, Alberta, Canada, and LeGrande, Oregon, coming to Utah in 1923. They have made their home in Springville since 1930. Both are active in church work. Mr. Hiatt is a high priest and Mrs. Hiatt has served in the Primary presidency in Canada and in other auxiliary work in Idaho and Utah. They are the parents of five sons and daughters, J. W. and Mattie Hiatt of Springville, Mrs. Lee Huff of Provo Bench, Mrs. Carl E. Baum of LeGrande, Ore-Son, Ore-Son, and Mrs. Earl Packard of Kuna, Idaho. They have also 27 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. |
