Show -- ! -j Marriage Claris Of Couple Are Made Known THE BOOD CLUB HAD A GET-TOGETHER out at their "Playmate Shoemaker's Shoemak-er's Playhouse." Upon arrival everyone was given baby bows i and bibs and the entire party was carried out in baby fashion. Lillian Ostler and Lamar Alle-man Alle-man were awarded prizes for the baby contest. Other baby games were enjoyed and prizes won by Lynn Hursh and Floyd Anderson. Baby refreshments were served and everyone reported a "howling" "howl-ing" good time. Guests included Gladys Weight, Warren Martell, Marian" Francis, Lamar Alleman, Maurine Francis, Lynn Hursh, Lillian Ostler, Tom Alleman, LaDean Bulkley, Earl Martell, Vera Bartholomew, William Wil-liam Talmadge, Enid Ewing, Floyd Anderson, Kelly Jensen, and the hostess, Eulalia Shoemaker. MAPLETON WARD RELIEF SOCIETY HELD A SOCIAL marking the opening of the season's sea-son's activities on Tuesday afternoon. after-noon. Mrs. Jessie Dalton and Mrs. Mae Groesbeck entertained with vocal duets; Mrs. Lucille Bird gave a piano number; Norma Wil-kins, Wil-kins, a story, and Algie Mackley, poems. The meeting emphasized the magazine drive and the stake leader, Mrs. Eugene Bird, was a special guest. Virginia Bird also gave a talk. Following the delightful program, pro-gram, refreshments were served under the direction of the activity committee to a large group of members and visitors. v Of special interest to friends here is the announcement of the engagement of Miss Helen Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl O. Nelson of this city, and Robert P. Burt, also of Springville, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Parley B. Burt. The marriage date is set for October Oc-tober 10, to take place in the Salt Lake temple. Following their marriage, the young couple will leave on a short honeymoon trip. Upon returning, they plan to make their home in Spanish Fork. MRS. E. F. BIXKS WAS HOSTESS AT A PARTY at her home recently for a number num-ber of friends on the occasion of her birthday. The long dining table was centered with a low bowl of summer flowers and a beautiful dinner set which she received as a birthday gift added to the attractively at-tractively arranged table. Music and social conversation were enjoyed by the guests following follow-ing dinner. LEGION AUXILIARY MEMBERS WILL MEET next Wednesday evening, at their regular October meeting at 8 p. m. at Memorial hall. A nicely arranged arrang-ed program, to feature a book review re-view and other splendid numbers, is planned for the occasion. The program will also honor the unit's Gold Star Mother, Mrs. Mary Z. Hatfield, and all members are urged to be present. President Marjorie Frandsen will be in charge. ' |
