Show 'Springville Man Takes n Bride From Leland t An outstanding social event of the spring season I was the reception held in the Leland ward last Wednesday, Wed-nesday, honoring Glen Cook of Spring-ville and his S new bride, the former Delores Tho- f mas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert W. Thomas of Leland. Mr. . Cook is a son of Mr. and Mrs. g Heber Cook of Springville. 5?' Baskets of pink carnations and white stock and candelabra with Ui lighted candles formed a back-3G back-3G ground for the bridal party. To ma,j receive her many guests, the v.. lovely bride wore a gown of white slipper satin. The full skirt, with cathedral train, fell from a fitted bodice with a, chantilly lace trimmed yoke and high neckline, long, pointed sleeves and tiny self covered buttons down the back. The nylon net lace trimmed veil was fastened to a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a heart-shaped bouquet of pink camellias and stephanotis. Attending the bride were Mrs. Dorothy Thomas, matron of honor, and Mrs. Martha Damoreaux, Betty Rae Beck, Barbara Hansen, and - VerNell Nielson, as bridesmaids, brides-maids, all wearing gowns in shades of green and carrying nosegays of pink carnations. Mothers of the bride and groom were attired in gowns of black and wore corsages of pink camellias. - Dick Lamoreaux was best man and Grant Cook and Dennis Olsen ushered. ' Prelude music was played by Opal Atwood. Glen Thomas, brother bro-ther of the bride, was master of ceremonies for the program which included: reading, Mrs. Marie Huff; solo, Clifford Williams; original ori-ginal verse about the bride' and groom, Nancy Lu Clegg; vocal solo, Mrs. Madeline Thorton, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. May Harrison of Provo; chorus, group of girl friends; piano and organ duet, Jack Isaac and Opal Atwood; accordion ac-cordion solo, Mrs. Harrison. Receptionists were Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Thorton of Provo and Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Peckenpaugh, of Spanish Fork. The guest book was attended by Joyce Peckenpaugh. Arranging and displaying the gifts were Mrs. Alvin J. Olsen, Mrs. Madeline Thorton, and Miss Phyllis Olsen and hostesses in the trousseau room were Mrs. Alton Giles and Mrs. Frank Thomas. Dainty refreshments were served from small tables centered with pink candles tied with white ribbon bows. A beautiful wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom encircled with a heart, was displayed on a large mirror and flanked with pink and white tapers. ta-pers. Supervising the serving were Mrs. Hannah Evans, Mrs. Max Mendenhall, Mrs. Dean Larsen,, Mrs. David Larsen and Mrs. Lor-engo Lor-engo Olsen. Others assisting were Dayla Stoker, Marion Peterson, Carol Olsen, Irene Hansen, Carma Thomas Miller, Mary Esther Thomas, Tho-mas, Carol Miller, Mr. and Mrs. DeMar Beck, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Thomas, Tho-mas, Mr. and Mrs. Ennis Woffing-ton, Woffing-ton, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Larsen, and Mr. and Mrs. Ren Larsen. The young couple will make their home in Spanish Fork. |
