Show i Miss Betty Kappas Wed to B. L. Rogers The young couple were married mar-ried Aug. 24 at Logan LDS lemplc. A reception was given in Mapleton following the marriage mar-riage for which the bride wore a lovely gown of white satin with fitted bodice, sweetheart neckline and long sleeves. Her finger-tip veil fell from a crown of orange blossoms and her flowers were pink rosebuds rose-buds with gladioli. Matron of honor was Georgia Geor-gia Burrows, Salt Lake City an aunt of the bride and Stella Kappas, a sister; Ina Skinner, a cousin and Bonnie Rieske Doris Richards and Pal tie Sares, another cousin were bridesmaids. They wore formal gowns in pastel shades, with , corsages of rosebuds and glads. The bride's mother chose a grey crepe afternoon dress. Mrs. Marie Turner, a sister, sis-ter, was in charge of the guest book. The new Mrs. Rodgers isr a graduate of the SpringviUe high sdhool and the Kolob stake seminary. Mr. Rodgers attended the Y and filled a LDS mission. The newlyweds will make their home at Joseph City, Arizona. August 25, a bridal shower was held in honor of Mrs. Rodgers at the Mapleton church. The hall was decorated decora-ted with fall flowers. A program pro-gram was enjoyed with Mrs. Ethel Jensen as toastmistress who introduced a solo by Mabel Hansen; dance numbers Jeanene Holley and Sharon Ellis; guitar duet, Ruth Barr and Neola Stiener; reading, Iris Dibble; duet, Ester Parry and Bonnie Gividen; piano solo, Shirla Westover; toast to the bride, Lilly Binks. In charge of the gifts were Arlena Holley, Inez Harmer and Barbara Murray. The refreshments re-freshments were in charge of Pearl Holley and Lora Bird. Serving were Maxine Warren, RaNae Hopla, Mar jean Allen, and Betty Kappas. Mrs. Jennie Gygi of Lark, a grandmother of the bride, Mrs. Eliza Morris and Georgia May Morris, Altona, aunt and cousin of the bride came to attend at-tend the shower. |
